Life changes in a short time

Chapter 15

Zack, Nate and I had been at the resort now for a week and a lot of things had been talked about and by that, I mean Zack explaining things to Nate and I. During the day we would have fun like swimming, scuba diving, boat rides, and we even explored the off-shore islands, but nights we would sit and talk about vampire things. Zack would still not tell me what trouble he had gotten into but it was not my business so I left it, I do have to say the conversations at times were embarrassing for me at least. It was our last night here and Nate went and decided a nice romantic dinner was in order.

"Athena are you ready to go?" Zack asked "Yes" I yelled back. Once I opened the bathroom door Zack dragged me out and down to the car. I was being forced into shopping for a dress for tonight. We went to god knows how may dress shops before I found one that was nice but not over the top. I swear I was only going to have 2 hours to get ready for this dinner that Nate was putting together. Removing the dress I yelled out to Zack "What is this dinner for again?" Nate would not tell me so I figured I might be able to get it out of Zack. He had been nothing but supportive and helpful this whole trip, well ok Nate and Zack had really not let me do much. At points I felt like if they could pee for me they would of. "Athena I told you before I can't tell you but you'll like it!" Signing I left the dressing room feeling nerves about tonight. I paid for the dress on the card Nate handed me and walked out, "can we go back now my feet hurt?" "Yeah, jump on" "no I'll walk it's not that far!" I started walking ahead of him which was a mistake because the next thing I feel in my legs being pulled out from under me and I'm looking up at the sky. I was so use to this I stopped screaming when they did it. "God damn it Zack I can walk put me down! I'm tired of ya'll doing everything for me I can feel my ass getting fatter from it!" With my whole rant all he could do was laugh, so I just shut up while he ran with his vamp speed. I still had time to get ready without rushing now so I went to watch some TV.

Zack's POV:

I was shopping with Athena for a dress tonight, which Nate had planned out as a romantic dinner and some other things which I try to block out. All this week we have talked about vampire thing like the bond which I had to tell them it got stronger over time, and the process for her to turn which finding out Nate did not know how to do it. I'm glad I found out before he tried to turn her he could have killed her because of him not knowing how to do it. I just wanted Athena to have the facts about this life before she jumped head first in it.

I watched some TV with her as we waited for dinner time to come around. After about an hour of waiting she got up to take a shower, I had been thinking all day on this and now was the time. I waited a little longer for the shower to start up before I began. Once the shower started I jumped up and took all the suit cases and packed them with mine and Athena's cloths. As I went thru her cloths I came to find this sexy little teddy that was white with a thong. I pulled out a white bar of hers that would match it and laid them on the dresser, before I continued packed everything else. I figured it would be a good night for both of them with this. Ok maybe it's not the nice thing to do but I love playing prank and I figured what the hell why not. Laughing to myself I but the bag by the door and knocked on the bathroom door. "Athena I'm heading out see you in the morning with the car!" I yelled throw the door. I did not get a respond from her before I left taking the cloths with me. I walked down and out of the hotel laughing to myself, they should have a fun night and I hope Nate likes what I did for him.

Athena's POV:

I got out the shower to find my dress and underwear laying on the dresser and Zack gone. I just shock my head and started getting ready. I did light curls thru out my hair and very natural make up, I did nothing over the top. I pulled the dress on and looked myself over. My shoes were by the door just some black flats that I placed on my feet. I grabbed my little purse and only had to wait for about 3 minutes before there was a knock on the door. I opened the door a there stood Nate in a nice dress shirt and pants, he was sexy looking with his smirk making its way on to his face. He held out his hand "shall we?" taking his hand I nodded my head.

Leaving the hotel and walking on the beach I was wondering why the beach but I kept my mouth shut about it, I just wanted tonight to flow. Taking in the lite breeze and the smell of the water was relaxing. I felt Nate stop and pull me around to face him, he just stared into my eyes before his lips took a hold of mine. It was a quick kiss, when we both pulled away there was a smile on his face but my mirrored his tonight. This felt so right nothing mattered in this moment, I could feel my heart start to race then he leaned in and whispered "You look stunning tonight!" I had lost my voice when he looked back into my eyes, so I gave him a quick kiss. With his hands around my waist he turned be around, what I seen was beautiful it was something you would only seen in a picture. There was torches in a circle around a table dressed in white with chairs looking the same, and then on the sand were candles in clear latrine style boxes. Once we walked to the table Nate pulled out the chair for me to sit in, he leaned down pecking my lips before sitting in his own. The table was set with dishes and a candle in the middle.

Waiting on the food to arrive we chatted about nothing important. The food arrived and I could not tell you what it was but it smelt fruity and tasted even better. We talked some more after finishing our food, then he stood up and took my hand in his "May I have this dance?" he asked. There was soft music playing in the background but I have no ideal from where. With a smile on my face I stood and we began to dance. Once the song was over he stood in front of me with a smile that could melt anyone's heart, going down on one knee. "Athena, I know that I've messed up in the past, I want us to be together forever and always and I hope that you will forgive me for my mistakes and love me the way I am. I'm asking you this from the bottom of my slow beating heart will you marry me?"

I stood there shocked this is what I have always wanted the romantic proposal and he just gave it to me. I could feel the tears going down my face at what he said. He was still looking me in the eyes and I him, taking a few quick breaths trying to control the tears and my voice. "Yes, Nate I will, and I forgive you!"

Nate's POV:

Zack was out with Athena shopping while I arranged the dinner date tonight. I was nerves as I walked around the beach trying to find the perfect spot for everything. The resort was very helpful with the setting up and working with my ideal for tonight. It would start off with a candle light dinner on the beach away from the noise and light from the hotel. Quiet, peaceful with the stars shinning bright from the sky was the concept for tonight. Last minute ideal came to me soft music so we could dance. It was going to be great. I made sure that I had everything ready to go. I felt in my pocket the ring and a smile pulled on my face, yes if you guessed it then I was going to propose again to her. I need her and this is what I wanted to do. I tried my best to push all the nervousness away while I walked to get Athena.

When the door opened after I knocked I was speechless and breathless at first she was wearing her hair down with curls throw it, the dress hugged her body just right and the dress was perfect for her white and black with a flowery type of design to it. Pulling myself together quickly I held out my hand to her "Shall we?" She nodded yes and placed her hand in mine. I lead her out of the hotel and onto the beach. Glancing at her from time to time on our walk I could tell she wanted to ask what we were doing but didn't. With a smile on my face I took her into my arms before she could see the dinner setting on the beach in front of us. Staring into her eyes I took her lips for a sweet kiss. Once I pulled away still looking into her eyes "You look stunning tonight" I whispered. She gave me a quick kiss for the complement. Once she was looking back at me I turned her around so she could see where we were. I could tell she was shocked from what she seen but I let her take her time walking to the table, I pulled out her chair and the dinner date started. We talked about nothing important, it was a relaxed but romantic night just the way I planned it. Once the food arrived we ate and talked a little more before I asked her to dance. I could tell she was happy her feelings and mine we the same tonight. The music was soft in the background, once the song was over I went to one knee in front of her and held her hand in mine. I looked up at her and started my speech but what I was thinking of say all day was not what came out at this moment, I spoke from my heart. I could see her eyes starting to tear up, wanting to hold her in my arms but decided to finish what I started. The tears spilled over and then there was silence before she took a few quick breaths. Figuring she was trying to control her tears before she spoke but what shocked me and made me the happiest man alive was she said yes to my proposal and she forgave me. I quickly took her into my arms and swung her around in a circle, setting her back down on her feet I captured her lips with mine. It was a sweet passionate kiss that turned steaming quickly. I pulled away for her to breath and I could slide her ring back on to her finger. The music started back up and I took her into my arms and we danced.

Athena's POV:

We danced to the music for a couple of songs. I started to get tired and yawned which I covered up with my hand. I looked up at Nate and he still had the smile on him face laughing at my yawn. I gave him the shut up look but it just made his laugh more. "Ok sleepy head lets head back to the room!" I just nodded my head while he led me back to the room.

Kicking my shoes off by the door I walked to the dresser to get something to sleep in. But I got a surprise of a life time my clothes were gone. Sitting there all by its self was one of the white teddy's that I got in France. I could feel my anger coming to the surface and with the bond Nate and I shared I knew he could feel it too.

"What's the matter Athena?" "Your f****d up friend stole my cloths and left me with this!" turning around with it in my hand to show him what I was talking about. His eyes went wide and a smile started to form on his lips. "Your joking, right?" he stated but the smile did not leave his face. He walked over to the dress and looked in all the draws and then it click that I was not joking "I'll call him right now and straighten this out!" I just nodded my head and left for the bathroom to do my thing.

Zack's POV:

It had been hours since I had left the room, but I could not stop thinking about what I had done which had me laughing for no reason. I even got some funny looks like I was a mad man or something. I was just sitting in the car when my phone went off. I looked at the id and it was Nate I just started laughing again. "Hello" I said holding back the laughter that I wanted to let lose. "Zack, why did you take all of Athena's cloths with you?" "Dude, it was for your own good at least tell me you liked what I left and before you even ask no I'm not bring them back until morning so have a fun night!" Laughing at the end I hung up on him.
