Radclyffe took him down the hallway outside his office into the library; and through a second door there to another, longer hallway which led to the kitchen. Before they got there he stopped, pressing his fingers to the juncture between two of the ornate panels along one wall. A door slid open, revealing a flight of stairs. “As soon as you see me open the door, you’ll post yourself at the end of the hallway. If anyone asks, you’re keeping the guests from exploring parts of the house that I consider off limits.”
“Then I suggest you have someone else doing that already so I can take their place. You don’t want anyone wondering why you leave and suddenly I’m guarding the hallway.”
“I’m not stupid. Glenna will be at the door to the library from the time the guests start arriving.”
