“You sure about her Kai? She ain’t Tara.”
“I am, she doesn't have to be like Tara Jay. I like her the way she is, she’ll learn and in time then she’ll be like Tara is.”
“Sure you’ve got enough time to do that Ka?i We ain’t got long left.”
“I am.”
“Just one thing, keep Jaie out of your vendettas Kai, she’s mine.”
“Still got it bad hugh, she ain’t gonna fall for it Jay. You scare her as much as we do.”
“We shall see.”
“We shall.”
Kara closed the door her and Jaie went up to her room sitting down getting their books out of their bags. “So, this Dawson guy was he in Kai’s year or ours.”
“His. They’ve always been friends like Jed. I think they all went to the same primary school.’
“You seem to know a lot.”
“He used to talk to me occasionally when they weren’t around. He’s the one that used to call all the shots, until him and his friends got expelled then Kai took over. I think the head thought it was a good idea to take the ring away, but it wasn’t it daint stop the bad stuff happening.
They tried to split them up and send them away it never happened, there was talk they’d got some dirt on the head that’s why they were never expelled and were never sent to any other school.”
“He seems to like you.”
“Yeah, too much.”
“Don’t you like him?’”
‘“He scares me, Kara. I’ve seen what he’s done. Kai is an angel compared to him.”
“So that’s a no.”
“If he wasn’t him maybe, but the way he is, no.”
Kara smiled and they began their homework.
Kara said goodbye to Jaie. Her mom was just pleased that she had another friend that wasn’t Kai.
Jaie walked alone. “Jaie.”
She looked up as he jogged over to her. “Dawson.”
“So can we catch up now?”
“I’m on my way home, Dawson.”
“We can chat can’t we?”
“I guess.”
He smiled. “So how have you really been Jaie? I know Kai.”
“Fine. I keep myself to myself like my friends do.”
“And Kara?”
‘“She does too.”
“So you told her about him?”
“She had to know Dawson. It didn’t stop him or Seb through.”
“She went with Seb?” He said, surprised.
“Don’t look so surprised Dawson. He wasn’t Kai, though we tried to tell her to stay clear. None of us knew what happened between them. She seemed happy then he was gone and Kai had taken his place. I only hope she knows what she’s doing.”
“She’s not Tara that’s for sure.”
“What does he have on her Dawson?”
“I don’t know, he just wanted me to meet her. He said he’d found someone new, the perfect girl, yeah she’s perfect alright she ain’t Tara.”
“She never will be Dawson, she's not like them.”
“He seems to think so.’”
“She’s making a mistake.”
“So’s he, but he doesn't seem to think he is. She’s a nice girl like you.”
She looked at him. ‘I missed you Jaie, you were the rose of my many thorns. You know what I mean?”
“I guess.’
“I would’ve come sooner, but we agreed that we wouldn’t meet on school grounds till everyone had forgotten.”
“They’ll never forget Dawson, he is you.”
He smiled.
“It’s not worth smiling about Dawson. Everyone's scared of them.”
“Even you?’
“What do you think Dawson? We’re Kara’s only friends, everyone thinks she’s like them and she’s not. She’s just too scared to react just in case she ends up like them.”
“Your a good friend Jaie. You were to me.”
“And look where that got me.”
“You didn’t get expelled Jaie.”
“I almost did.”
“You hate me don’t you?”
“I hate who you are, that is all.”
He stopped directly in front of her. “I always liked you, Jaie.”
“I know.”
“Can I see you again.’
“I don’t know Dawson, you're too much like Kai.,
“Just let me kiss you, then you can decide.”
“I don’t think.”
He pressed his lips on hers kissing her hungrily. He moved away, she looked at him nervously. “I’ll see you tomorrow okay, just think about it Jaie. I’ll be by the gates.”
He walked away leaving her stunned. What was she going to do? She didn’t want to end up like Kara with no way out.

Jae
Kara had been so nervous today and I couldn't really blame her at all. I knew what these guys were like: they bullied others for kicks.
You had to keep your head down and keep the f**k our if sight if you didn't want to be their next target and on the receiving end of their wrath.
My friends and I had managed to avoid it all through high school because of Dawson. We had made friends for seven years unknown to me and my friends. He was buddies with Kai and the others, but that didn't seem to deter him from me.
He respected me more than the others did. I helped him as much as I could so he could get good grades
I knew he was developing feelings for me two years ago. A year ago the school had had enough of their antics and bullying so they split them up thinking it would stop but it never did.
I knew getting mixed up with Dawson would bring me more trouble than it was worth but I had promised I would at least give is a try and promise us a promise after all.
Mozza
Kai had said he wanted us to meet his new girl, Tara was long forgotten and Kara had taken her place. I looked at the girl in front of me. She looked mighty fine, but nothing like he had described.
She was not Tara damn straight up, she looked intimidated by all of us, especially me. I guess I could be intimidating for a six foot afro caribbean guy who towered above her at almost six foot and built like a brick s**t house with dreads.
I know one thing for sure: I wouldn't mind tapping it once Kai was embedded with her.
Reed
I looked at the dark haired girl in front of us wondering what the f**k had got into Kai. She definitely wasn't like us and she certainly wasn't Tara. What the hell was he thinking? Especially leaving Tara for her, we all spared glanced at each other with a 'what the actual f**k look?'
She was nothing like us, nothing like us to be exact and she never would be. Dawson was right; she was too pretty and too normal to ever be one of us. She was more like Jai.
But still we opened her with open arms and prayed to her she wouldn’t betray us.
Dawson
Kara looked as if she was going to s**t her duds. I don't think she was expecting guys like Reed and Moza. They are pretty decent guys until you get on their wrong side and believe me that is not a good idea. I'd tried to warn them prior to the meeting that Kara was definitely not Tara. She was a set girl like Jai. I'd tried to reason with Kai that she would never be like Tara. Tara may have been all sweet and innocent when we had all met her for the first time but yeah flairs was a dark horse which unfortunately Kara was not and will never be. I don't know how she was going to fit in with all of this.
Kai is ruthless, he doesn't care who he hurts and I'm sure he'll hurt Kara on one or more occasions if she messes up. Kai likes perfection and things done right the first time or there will be hell to pay.
Both Reed and Moza are eying her up, sizing her up. They Don't Trust easily. It took them a long time to trust Tara. This is going to be a complete s**t show.
After the meeting ended, the guys literally scared the s**t out of kara. Kai and I left. He walked hard home whilst I walked to Jai's. I couldn't wait to see her. She's the only one who can calm me right now.
I knocked on the door and waited for her to answer. She smiled and I pressed my lips on hers devouring her hungrily. I pulled away and smiled. "Come in."
I smirked following her while closing the door. I followed her into the lounge. It was so damn quiet.
We sat down. I dropped my arm around her pulling close. "So how did it go?"
"Don't ask?"
"That bad?"
"Worse babe."
"Kara was shitting bricks."
"Can't say I blame her. They were sizing her up seeing if she was good enough. Its so f*****g messed up. I told Kai the poor girl is nothing like us and will never be. He seems to think she is. He's so goddamn stubborn."
"At least you tried."
She said, running her fingers through my hair. Damn
"I wish for once he'd just listen this is going to end in knees deep in shit."
"I know."
I looked at her and damn she's so gorgeous. "I love you, you know that right?"
She smiled and nodded.
I pressed my lips on hers pulling her closer to me on a heated passionate kiss. I love this girl and I'm never going to let her go, no matter what.
