I dropped the leash of the siren to the ground and shifted as naturally as a breath. Simon was on his own. I ran. I raced through the forest and ignored the branches that tugged at my hide as I did so. My only goal was to get to her. I stumbled onto the clearing without notice. One moment I was pushing through the branches and brush and the next I was in a huge clearing with a giant tree in the center.
