CHAPTER 5

1068 Words
BETA JAY'S POV I pushed my way forward as the crowd cheered wildly each supporting their favorite competitor in what I had only learned five minutes earlier was going to be one of the evenings that the dojo held one on one competitions between its top students. I had forgotten about Zelda's letters for a while, instead following the familiar tug that make my wolf squirm and push regardless of how hard I tried to silence him. Yke, my wolf had always been stubborn and whenever he was set on something, fighting against him was almost impossible. This was a day I could have struggled to fight him but he ended up winning. Something was about to change. I could feel it and the more I made my way to the front, the more I felt the tug getting stronger. Could it be possible that the girl I had met barely an hour ago, was right there? My senses grew stronger, my wolf squirming inside me as my eyes roamed the platform in front of me. The first competitor was a well-built guy with the fierceness of a trained fighter while his opponent was a young woman. Her movement was strong, calculated, and cautious completely betraying her years of training. She circled him, her eyes locked on him but in a flash, she flicked her gaze to my direction as if she had known I would be standing there. Our eyes met and for a moment, time stood still as our gazes intensified on each other. I felt a connection between us, one that I had never felt before. Her eyes were kind yet fierce with a powerful aura that made my heart race. She was really my mate and all I wanted to do was go up there and claim her. However, her opponent attacked her first throwing a punch that she easily dodged while she was still looking at me silently. Her footwork was graceful and precise. She retaliated with a couple of kicks, landing several blows and jabs on the guy. Her strikes and reflexes were working perfectly to her advantage and I found myself admiring her movement as she easily tackled her opponent. She was a trained fighter but there was something more to it, something more than what met the eye. It was at that point that I snapped back to what I had come to do and realized what had been right before my eyes was likely to be what I was looking for. I patted my pockets quickly and took out the letters. I read the description of the girl again and slowly looked up at her. "Blossom!" I exclaimed in disbelief not realizing that I had said it out loud. The girl looked at me with surprise written all over her face. The distraction landed her an unexpected blow from her opponent that made her energy shift immediately. Her confidence seemed to grow at that moment and without hesitating, she unleashed a powerful combination of kicks that caught him off guard. With lightning speed, she swept his feet off the mat and sent him tumbling down. She followed him to the floor and crashed him as the spectators cheered around me. I wasn't focusing much on her mastery of the martial arts but on the fact that I had found the Alpha's daughter. I was about to take a step towards her when a woman stepped in front of me blocking my way. I met her eyes once and tried to push past her but a powerful force blocked me. At that same time, Blossom got up from the mat and disappeared. I couldn't lose her. I had to go after her. "Listen, woman, I don't know who you are but you really should get out of my way." "Who are you?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with confidence and fearlessness. "Why are you following my daughter?" I frowned, "Zelda?" The Alpha hadn't given me the exact description of the woman but looking at her then, I knew that she was the one. "Zelda Ursula?" I repeated and she took a step back. "Alpha Caliph of the Glowing Moon pack sent me." She eyed me suspiciously, her gaze dropping and rising from my foot to my head. She seemed to back down a little bit but she still had a powerful invisible grip on me which made it positive that I had the right women. "I'm his beta Jay and he wants me to take Blossom home." "Home?" The voice interrupted us from behind me. I turned slowly meeting the curious eyes of the young woman as she slowly made her way towards us. My heart took a giant leap that landed on my throat almost blocking the words out of me as I took in her magnificent frame from up close. She was as elegant as beauty could ever go with the eyes of her mother, the late Luna who I had only seen in past photo frames but whose picture stood with the kind of beauty that was enough to leave tongues wagging. "What do you mean by home?" she asked again, this time meeting our eyes alternatingly. "Aunt Zee, what is he talking about?" I hadn't thought about the fact that she had no idea that she had a home and family somewhere until I saw the confused look in her eyes. Zelda remained silent for what felt like a millennium seemingly deep in thought. I wasn't sure I was supposed to be the bearer of the news but the truth had to be said sooner rather than later. After all, the fate of our pack lay on that particular moment, getting Blossom back home to her rightful position. I decided to go straight into it. "Your father, Alpha Caliph of the Glowing Moon pack where I belong sent me. You need to come with me back home." "I don't know you! I don't have any family apart from my aunt." She turned to Zelda who stood there looking down guiltily. "Right Aunt Zee?" She slowly looked up and Blossom's jaw dropped. "I have a father?" She exhaled deeply and took a step back almost missing her landing. "Why didn't you ever tell me?" "Because it was supposed to be like that to keep you safe." She shook her head, "What else don't I know about myself?"
