The news about my father going behind the council's and the pack's back surprised me. Maybe not as much as they seemed to surprise Jay and the council but still, the man Jay had described to me wasn't who the vampires were describing. It was for the benefit of the pack for sure but what had been his reason to just sign the agreement without consulting anyone first?
There were things in that pack that just didn't add up. There were secrets going around, not just from my dead father but also from almost everyone involved. Those secrets were likely to ruin the pack more than any other thing, not even an attack or the dark days that the vampire was talking about.
