I felt him long before I saw him, like a light had been switched on inside of me, its warmth filling me up, enveloping me. I supposed it was easy enough for him to sneak in. From what I knew, these parties of Steven’s were fairly open, closed only just before the change occurred. This was, after all, a time for celebration among my kind, even if we had to keep it all as secret as possible. And so Ted could saunter in if he was dressed appropriately and seemed like he fit in.
