A bright light crashed into Codrin’s back and made him stumble forward. Caius slammed his forehead into Codrin’s nose and I heard a terrible crunch as bone shattered. Codrin screamed and stumbled back, releasing Caius to clutch his nose in both hands. His movement granted me a look past him, and a smile broke over my face.
Alex stood not more than ten feet back with one hand upraised. The palm glowed softly with his angelic yellow light, and his jaw was stiff as he glared at the monstrous man.
Codrin spun around and drew down his hands. Blood had poured from his broken nostrils and down his face, creating a mask of ugliness akin to that of Petro. “Get outta here or I’ll bite your nose off!”
