Twisted loyalty

ThE WARNING

Ray felt like he was in heaven with his wife there with him.

Before Lisa could say anything, he had already pinned her gently against the door and kissed her passionately. She returned the kiss with just as much passion.

Oh, how she had missed his touch.

Looking into his dark green eyes, which stared at her with so much love and longing, made her even happier. Ray felt the same way.

After their passionate kiss, he pulled her into his arms and buried his face in the nape of her neck, kissing it softly. Lisa let out a small whimper.

“R-Ray, stop. We’re still in your office. Someone might walk in…”

Before she could finish her sentence, he kissed her again.

Ray carried her and placed her gently on top of his desk. He quickly locked the door using a small remote. The door was automated, allowing him to lock and unlock it with the remote whenever he didn't feel like getting up to answer it.

He cleared everything from his desk as he continued kissing her.

He only stopped when he noticed that she was running out of breath.

Ray stared at her flushed face, which was enough to make any man lose his senses. His eyes were filled with desire.

Lisa felt like prey being watched by a predator, and she secretly loved it.

She had missed him too much.

Ray stared at her lovingly before whispering about how much he had dreamed of her every day.

“Lily, my love, do you know how much I’ve missed you? Your scent, your touch… everything about you. Even with your pregnancy, you still look so beautiful and sexy. I can’t wait to have you all to myself.”

Lisa blushed deeply at his words.

He knew she was pregnant, so he was careful with her. He made sure not to hurt her.

“Can I, my love?” Ray asked softly.

Lisa looked at him.

“But aren’t you supposed to be working?”

“I can work later,” he replied with a smile. “My angel is here now.”

He kissed her again, and they spent the rest of their private time together, enjoying the reunion they had both longed for.

The sound of birds could be heard in the distance.

Lisa slowly opened her eyes.

As she tried to turn to the other side of the bed, she felt a slight ache in her lower body. The memories of the previous night immediately came rushing back.

Her face turned red.

He really was gentle with me.

She turned to her right and couldn't help staring at her handsome husband.

His golden hair and green eyes were beautiful. His perfect figure made her smile.

Sometimes, she felt incredibly lucky to have him.

“Are you done staring at my beautiful face, love?”

Lisa was immediately pulled out of her thoughts when she heard his voice.

“No, I'm not” she replied playfully. “Can’t I stare at my own husband?”

She smiled.

“You know, I’ve missed you. And the baby missed you too.”

She gently patted her stomach.

Ray smiled.

“I felt alive when I saw you again, my love. I missed you more than you know.”

He moved closer to her stomach.

“How’s my little pumpkin doing?”

Ray placed his head near her belly and began talking to the baby.

“Ahh, my little pumpkin. Mom stressed you out yesterday, right? How dare she stress you like that? She not only put you in danger, but herself too.”

He looked at Lisa.

“But don’t worry. I’ll scold her. I’ll make sure she takes good care of you, my lovely pumpkin.”

He smiled.

“Very soon, you and I will finally meet, my baby.”

As soon as he said that, the baby kicked.

Ray's eyes widened with excitement.

“He kicked, love! See? I told you our little pumpkin would love me more, just like our other two children do.”

Lisa couldn't help smiling.

She loved how happy Ray always became whenever he talked about their family.

She prayed that they would always remain this happy.

She had no idea that something terrible was about to happen.

“What about the kids? Who’s looking after them while you’re here? You should have brought them. I miss those two brats.”

“I know, but your father said he missed them, and my parents did too. So I let each of them choose who they wanted to spend the weekend with.”

Lisa laughed.

“Can you believe Mackerel chose your dad? The man he barely used to get along with.”

Ray looked shocked.

“You must be joking. Since when did that old man become friends with my son? I thought those two would never become friends.”

He laughed.

“Well, that’s great. At least I get to spend my days with you now. No distractions from the kids.”

Before he could finish speaking, his phone suddenly rang.

Ray sighed in frustration.

He had completely forgotten that he was still at his workplace.

Lisa couldn't help laughing.

“I thought you said there were no distractions. What about this?”

She laughed again.

After they had a brief discussion, Ray finally left for work.

Lisa was alone again.

Ray had his own apartment inside the facility, located close to his office. There was a door connecting his apartment to his office, making it easier for him to move between work and home whenever necessary.

Lisa walked through the door leading to the terrace.

She was wearing only her nightgown as she stood there, staring at the beautiful scenery before her.

No matter how many times she saw it, the view always left her speechless.

The gardens were breathtaking.

A small waterfall flowed peacefully nearby, surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees.

Everything about the place was beautiful.

That was one of the reasons Lisa had always loved giving birth there. She wanted her children to be born somewhere beautiful and peaceful.

She felt even luckier to have married Ray.

She loved him deeply.

A week had passed since Lisa arrived at the research center.

And today would become the day she wished she had never come to visit her husband.

Her phone suddenly rang.

“Ring… ring… ring…”

Lisa quickly answered.

“Hello, love. What happened?”

Ray's voice came through the phone, sounding urgent.

“Lock all the doors and windows quickly.”

Lisa froze.

“Ray, what—”

“Please, don’t ask me any questions right now. Just do what I’m telling you.”

His voice was tense.

“Then go to the closet. Behind my clothes, remember the passage I showed you last time?”

Lisa's heart began pounding.

“Yes…”

“Go there and use the password to enter. Hide inside, and please don’t come out until I come to get you.”

“Ray, what’s happening?”

“Whatever you hear, ignore it. Please, be safe.”

His voice softened for a brief moment.

“I love you. I’ll be there soon.”

The call suddenly ended.

“Hello?”

Lisa stared at her phone.

“Hello? Ray? Ray, where are you? What happened? Pick up!”

There was no answer.

She immediately knew that something terrible had happened.

Instead of going to look for him, Lisa did exactly what he had told her to do.

She quickly locked every door and window before rushing toward the closet.

She moved the clothes aside and found the hidden passage.

Lisa entered the small room behind the closet.

The room was surprisingly well decorated despite its hidden location. There was a chair in the corner, and the space was large enough for one person to stay inside comfortably.

Then she noticed something else.

Weapons.

There were weapons stored inside the room.

Lisa's eyes widened.

She had never paid much attention to them before.

On one side of the room was a CCTV monitor.

From there, she could see different areas of the facility, including Ray’s office.

Lisa sat down slowly, her heart pounding.

She stared at the screen.

What happened to Ray?

And for the first time since arriving at the research center, Lisa realized that her husband had been hiding far more from her than she had ever imagined.
