Blueberry Muffins

      Blue arrived at Dan`s early in the morning around 8:20. She`s there because they had 4 special orders of blueberry muffins to fill. One order had to be ready for pick up by 12:45 and the other at 3:30, this afternoon along with making some for the coffee shop. Blue thought to herself that she`ll try some  new recipes. "Let me see...Umm...I know, banana crumb and cinnamon crumb muffins.

     " She got out of the car and enters Dan`s. "Hello yall I`ll be back I gotta find out something real quick," and departed straight to the back office. "Good Morning Dan just to make sure before I get started, are their any additional orders or any changes since calling me last night," asked Blue. "Good Morning Blue. No their aren`t any new orders or changes. Thank God, hey aren`t we missing someone,'' said Dan? "He`s with my next door neighbors. Real good peoples. She`s gonna drop him off around 4:30, later today. 

    His daycare had to close today due to an emergency.They have to fix a busted water pipe in the building and they`ll be closed for about two months. That pipe being busted messed it up for a lot of people at the daycare. Well let me get in here and get started on these muffins and stuff,'' said Blue. When she left Dan`s office it was 9:10. She went to put her things in her locker, put on her apron and went to the kitchen. She peeped her head around the corner and said, "Good Morning yall, I`m sorry for earlier,'' said Blue to her workers in the front. Keisha said,'' It`s okay no harm done.

     " She brought her head back around from the corner and started to gather the ingredients she needed to make the muffins and then grabbed three bowls. "Liam,'' Blue called," Can you get these bowls up here on the top shelf. It`s too high for me to reach,'' she asked? ''Sure I can shorty,'' Liam sarcastically said to Blue while entering the kitchen to retrieve the bowls that were on the top shelf for her. "Here you go little girl," Liam said. "I can`t stand you, boy, thanks, she said. She began to mix all the ingredients together in the 3 bowls. 

     As she was stirring her ingredients together within the bowls she heard commotion in the front with a customer that seemed to had a discrepancy and Dan left the shop, leaving her in charge of the store. Blue went to the front to resolve the issue with the disgruntled customer. Blue steps next to Keisha and interjected in her soft naturally seductive tone and said, "Excuse me, I`m the manager here but first Good Morning and may I ask what`s the problem?'' Keisha said, "Blue I accidentally gave him the wrong coffee." The customer said to Blue, "Well the problem is that this b***h can`t hear what I told her.'' ''Well sir what did you order," Blue asked? "I ordered a espresso con panna with 4 sugars," he said. 

    "And what did she give you," she asked? "She gave me this butterscotch latta with extra butterscotch s**t in it. I hate butterscotch!" "Okay...okay...Sir please calm down. We`re sorry for the confusion in mixing up your order. How about I mix your espresso con panna personally myself, throw some of our house blueberry muffins with it and on your next visit its on me," Blue said? "Well how about you give me your number with that too pretty," the customers` friend standing next to him said. "I can`t do that,'' Blue said obviously offended but maintained her professionalized composure.

      "Why not pretty," the customers` friend said while at the same time  grabbed  Blue`s hand and pulled her close to him  as if he`s almost about to kiss her. The line was hella long so everyone was becoming anxious, testy and impatient as Finn and the familia enters Dan`s Coffee Shop and get in line. "Sir you`re hurting my hand," Blue said, wincing and trying to pull her hand away from the customers` friend. He whispered," Well all you gotta do is give me your number and I`ll let you go." Taylor and Finn enthralled in conversation when they came in didn`t notice what was going on.Talyor looked to see what he wanted from the menu and saw Blue facial expression as if she was suffering from excruciating pain from the customers` friend holding onto and squeezing her hand.

       Taylor tapped Finn on the shoulder and was like,'' Yo god ain`t that you.right there? f**k this cat doin`? Want me to duff son out," said Taylor eagerly. Finn was very reserved about the situation,he said " Crazy, thun done lost his mothafuckn mind. As nice as she is. Naw I got it. I just wanna see what the deal is because she seems too nice of a person for that. I`ll be back. Hold my spot g," said Finn. Finn walked behind the man who was squeezing Blue`s hand, tapped him on the shoulder and said, "What the f**k is you doin` b.," asked Finn? The man squeezing Blue hand, without turning to see who was talking to him said," f**k you," and took a punch at the person behind him. With swift reaction and reflexes allowed Finn to dodge the dude`s flailing punch. 

       The man was about  to say something but as he focused on who was in front of him his face went ghostly and  instantly let Blue hand go. "Oh s**t I didn`t know that was you behind us,'' said the customer`s friend. "What the hell are you an i***t? Messing with this nice lady," said Finn. ''I know you ain`t sweatin` this coffee b***h Finn,'' the guy said. Finn looked at the dude`s friend, the customer and asked him," So yall came in together, huh?" The customer looked at his friend then at Finn and nodded yes. 

     While Finn was talking to the guys in the front Taylor called the other guys in. Chase said to Taylor,'' What`s good Boss, what`s the Overboss doin` up there? "Those two guys up there being disrespectful to the Boss," Taylor told Chase. ''What! C`mon yall lets handle this s**t. Gotdamn we don`t get a break from fukn these savages up god, c`mon s**t,'' said Chase.Taylor yells out to Chase, ''I think them devils` time enough for yall hahahaaha,'' said Taylor. Just as Taylor finished telling Chase that, Finn said," Guys get these two shitheads out of my sight. 

    I`ll talk to them sooner,'' said Finn. Finn`s men rushed the customer and his friend and got them out of Dan`s Coffee Shop quick, fast and a hurry as they commence the critical beatdown. Keisha took the next person`s order and business continued as usual. Blue stood there rubbing her hand, wincing from the pain. "Blue do you have a first aid kit," Finn asked? She said,'' Yeah it`s back here in the office.'' He said, ''If you don`t mind can I come with you? "Sure c`mon it`s the least I can do," she said sarcastically giving a slight chuckle and lead the way. Finn proceeded to follow Blue into the office. 

      She went to pick the first aid kit up but it was out of reach so Finn exuded the gentlemanly act of helping Blue again and he grabbed the first-aid kit from the cabinet. "Thank you again! Are you always this helpful,'' asked Blue? "Well that all depends...on how I like you,'' Finn said. Blue took a seat on the sofa and Finn walked over and sat beside her. Finn asked,'' Can you give me your hand Ms. Blue?"  ''Hold up, you know my name? How do know my name,'' asked Blue? ''Oh my first time coming here with my guys, I mean, my peoples and my man`s paid for all of our orders,'' he said. ''Oh I remember that day,'' Blue said. "Well I doubled back to get a muffin but I guess you were back here or something.

        I wanted to ask you something so I asked for your name but you were busy," said Finn. "Well what is your name ," asked Blue? "Oh I`m sorry baby my name is Finn...Finn Bailey,'' he said as he extended his hand to shake Blue`s hand and she put her hand up to be wrapped. While Finn wrapped her hand they didn`t say anything to each other verbally but through their positive vibratory frequencies until Finn asked Blue, ''How is that Blue? Is that snug and secure enough for you,'' he asked? "Yes Dr. Bailey, everything is fine. You`re a natural, huh,'' Blue said. "Something like that," he said. 

     "Thanks Finn for this and I really appreciate your help out there earlier with that guy," Blue said. "Give thanks, sheed, goddess, that`s what we supposed to do as black men, is to protect the black queen. I mean how we gon` come together if we don`t protect each other and as beautiful as you are I couldn`t help but to intervene. So you sure you`re alright,'' asked Finn? "Yeah I think so. I`ve got aIot muffins to make but my hand  should be okay," answered Blue. 

     ''I hope I`m not being too forward with you Blue, but if I may say you are so beautiful like a delicate flower that should never be bruised or damaged,'' he said to Blue as he held her hand giving it a kiss. He then pulls his wallet from his inner Polo Sports spring jacket taking a card out writing on the back of it then gave Blue his business card. "Love, here`s my private numbers. Give me a call when you have some free time, day or night. I think it would be nice if we got to know each other better,'' suggested Finn. Finn proceeded to stand up helping Blue stand cautiously holding her bruised hand as they stargazed into each other`s eyes for a about minute and like the saying goes, 'the eyes are the windows to the soul. 

     ''They were still staring at each other holding hands when Taylor came in but they were so enthralled in their spiritual connecting they never noticed him standing there...''Eck, eck...eck excuse me Finn, is everything okay back here? You was back here for a while so I had to check on yall," Taylor said. When they heard Taylor`s voice Blue and Finn pulled away from each other looking in the opposite direction. Although Blue is a medium dark brown complexion her cheeks was almost rosy red from blushing. Taylor said, ''Sorry for the intrusion god but we have to bounce.

     '' Finn said, "Okay give me minute, I`ll be out.'' Taylor walked out of the office to make sure everything else was coordinated with the other guys. "It looks like you have to leave and I have to finish getting these orders ready for later. Thank you again Finn, I really appreciate what you did out there for me as well as wrapping my hand up. Finn looked down into Blue`s eyes and said,'' It`s nothin` see you later beautiful,'' he said. He then kissed her on the forehead again and left the office. Blue stood in the middle of the office for about 10 minutes blushing from the encounter with Finn and went back to the kitchen to finish fixing the muffins she was preparing before being interrupted.

     Finn entered the lobby, retrieved his free coffee and exited Dan`s Coffee Shop. "Boss come with us. We got them two suckas at the dock waiting for you.The one that was squeezing Blue hand almost caught you with that blow god,'' said Taylor. "You always cracking` jokes and s**t. You know gotdamn well but knowone`s gonna f**k with the people I care about and especially the hard working blue-collar worker. Lets go, you crazy Sun,'' Finn said. 15 minutes later they reached the dock and entered the loading station. Taylor points to where the two dudes from the coffee shop was at.They laid on the floor beat up badly and severely. "Yo b, yall done f****d up touching on the wrong woman," said Finn.

      "Man I didn`t have nothin` to do with it. That was him fuckin` with that coffee shop b***h," the customer dude from the coffee shop said! "Shut up punk! You should`ve told him to fall back and chill. You thought that s**t was funny. s**t ain`t funny now, huh. And now you loverboy you ready,'' Finn asked the dude that was squeezing Blue hand as he screws the silencer on his semi-automatic .44 cal? "For what ninja," said the customer dude friend? "For this," said Finn, shooting both of them in the head, killing them instantly. "Get rid of these mothafuggaz, Finn said.

      "Gotcha Boss, Nathan get the body bags and yall zip and flip them," said Taylor.  They bagged up both of their bodies with cement bricks tied to their feet and threw them both into the Chesapeake. Finn walked to the whip and pulled off. Back at the kitchen Blue was still  baking the muffins. She put then in the muffin warmer for about an hour. When they were done she put then in the muffin boxes for pick up. The customer that ordered the muffins came to pick them up at 1:15. Once the customer left and the lunch rush became slower she went back in the office. She took a seat behind the desk, pulled out Finn`s business card and read it ...It read…"Bailey Enterprise LLC.

      She thought to herself, ''wait he owns the whole damn city and more!" While in mid-thought daydream  it was interrupted by Ben calling her name. "Blue, you have a visitor out front," Ben said as he smiled from ear to ear. Blue said, :What`s wrong was you boy.Your mighty happy.Tell them I`ll be out in a minute," she said . ''Okay," said Ben and retreated to deliver the message. After Ben left the office Blue looked at Finn`s business card one more time, placed it in her phone case and left the office.

      When she came out to the front she was humbled by the surprise of Finn standing there with a large pizza and some ice teas. "I hope you didn`t mind me coming back to bring you something to eat? I figured you may be hungry Ms. Blue," said Finn. "I sure am. You can come with me to the office," Blue said smiling at Finn as they both walked to the office. When they got to the office they took a seat and Finn opened the pizza. It was her favorite, sausage and pepperoni with extra cheese.

     Blue was surprised and wondered how would he know. As she sipped her ice tea she said, "Mr. Bailey you did your homework, huh? "Please call me Finn, Blue," he said . "Sure no problem...Finn," she said. As they sat at the table eating pizza Finn said, "may I ask you a question"? "Sure,'' Blue said. "Is that your real name...Blue," he asked? "Yep ever since I was born.Yes that`s my real name. Blue as the color...Blue as the C.R.I.P.S...but I don`t bang,'' she said and they both laughed. "Naw that`s cool, I like the name Blue. It`s intriguing and interesting, just like you are," Finn said. 

     "Well is Finn your real name? Like fins on a fish," asked Blue? "Oh...no my real name is Griffinn,'' he said. "As in the last name," Blue asked? "Weird for a carbon based light being, right..., but that`s the name," said Finn. "Well I like Griffinn so much better. I know we`ve just met and you bought pizza and all but if you don`t mind can I call you by your "actual" name? It reminds me of someone I look up to in high regard. Someone who helps me thru his writings.

        Sort of like an enlightener but that`s for a later and deeper discussion...maybe," she said. "Now I`m not into giving women special privileges being I don`t know you like that but you seem to be nice. You`ll be nice about it right," asked Finn? "Oh sure you have my word, scouts honor," she said amusingly and they both laugh. They talked for a while, getting to know each other when 2:30 struck and Finn`s phone rung. "Excuse me beautiful  for a minute," Finn said. "Good ahead Griffinn, take care your biz. I understand," Blue said. 

     While Finn is standing by the sink enthralled in a deep conversation on the  phone Blue sat at the table checking Finn out, unbeknownst to him. As he talked on the phone Blue inwardly to herself thought, "Okay he looks to be about 6'6, dark hair, nice broad shoulders medium brown skin with light brown eyes and his muscular body fitting so sexy with the outfit he has on. Umm...umm...umm Finn looks so good but I`m a play it smooth. Hopefully he doesn`t notice me checkin` him out, but to her surprise and slight embarrassment through Finn`s peripheral vision he did notice Blue looking at him. 

         He smiled at Blue giving her full eye to eye contact then said to her, "you like what you see goddess? Blue began to blush and said, "Griffinn I`m so sorry I was thinking about something and I didin`t realize I was looking in your direction. "Sure Ma I understand, I`m magnetic like that. I just got off with my administrative assistant and there`s a meeting I have to attend. Sorry I have to cut this short but I have to go to but I`ll see you tomorrow. 

      You know I gotta get some of your delicious mouth watering blueberry muffins ma," he said. "Okay I`m a hold you that Griffinn. Let me walk you to the door," she said. As they both walked towards the door Finn asked Blue, "Can I hold your hand?" She extends her hand to Finn. "How`s your hand? Does it still hurt? "No, whatever you did it feels a better now. It feels great, doc," she said. "Good when I come thru tomorrow if you feel pain I`ll have my private doctor to look at it if you don`t mind," he said.They looked into each other eyes as they conversated for a while being very attentive to every syllable spoken. 

       "Blue when I come by tomorrow can I bring you some breakfast if possible," Finn asked? "Oh that would be so gentlemanly of you Griffinn. That would be so nice of you. Hopefully we won`t be too busy. By the way thanks for everything. I really appreciate you that Griffinn," said Blue. "Give Thanks goddess and all praise due, you`re welcome beautiful, he said then gave Blue a kiss on the forehead. "Oh Finn...let me grab something real quick for you.  Wait...I`ll be right back,'' said Blue. She ran to the back hastily and came back out with a box of muffins handing it to Finn. 

       "Here`s the blueberry muffins you ordered," she said. "Ohhh yeah that`s right I almost forgot. See you got something special with yourself girl," he said laughing. "And as a little token of our appreciation here at the coffee shop I threw six more muffins in there. Three banana crumb and three cinnamon crumb. They`re some new recipes I`m trying, let me know what you think, she said. "Aww you didn`t have to do that but thank you. I`m sure the fam will appreciate it. Well I gotta go, see you tomorrow,'' he said, as he kisses her on hand and left.
