VII: Goddess * The village of Yaras was small. Just twenty or so houses in a circle with a large fire pit in the center. The houses in Yaras were not made of obsidian like the ones in Jaka. The walls were constructed of ordinary stone, and the roofs were thatched, made from the vegetation that grew in the beautiful dark soil that covered this area. Akshara had simply followed Erevia and Merno in silence from Jaka to Yaras. The journey had taken four days of walking, only stopping to sleep. Merno and Erevia ate as they walked, but Akshara had nothing the entire time. She only drank very little water and wine—just enough to survive.
