AS THE CHILDREN WALKED around the marketplace Heko kept asking Fari endless questions like: Where are you from? How did you travel so far? Do you miss your home?
And Akshara’s favorite question: “Do you have a boyfriend?”
It seems all it took to get Heko to stop being in love with her was to introduce him to Fari so he could be in love with her instead.
“I’m going to be a priestess,” Fari said. “Priestesses can't have boyfriends or marry.”
“That’s what Akshara always tells me, but I think she’s just saying it to get me off her back.”
“You’re so sweet. When I close my eyes, I can see you as a young man. You’ll be very handsome, and your voice will deepen, and you’ll be tall, and have lots of muscles!” Fari exclaimed.
