By the time I was able to reign my tears in there was a knock on the door. I took a deep breath to collect myself. It still amazed me how easily one woman could bring me to tears. She truly was my greatest weakness and no one could find that out if I wanted to keep her truly safe. I stood up from the bed, taking Cass into my arms. I placed her in the chair at my desk and walked to the door. Lila wheeled the food in and placed it on the desk. I gripped her shoulder.
"Was it tested?" I felt dread in my stomach but she nodded softly to my question.
"I saw to it personally your majesty." I turned to my guard, giving him a nod as thanks. After she had put all the food out, Lila took the cart and left the room with a short bow. My guard shut the door and I sighed as I sat on the bed
