AUSTINS POV

“I can’t believe you’ve been Alpha for three whole years and still haven’t found your mate, that’s almost completely unheard of”

“Damion can we not have this conversation again” I say as I rub my face.

“Okay okay I’m sorry… it’s just.. you’re an Alpha, you should’ve found her by now, it’s unheard of for an Alpha to not find their Luna as soon as they turn 17, I mean even if she isn’t 17 by the time you are , you should still be able to feel her”

“I know Damnit! Don’t you think I know that, I spend every moment wondering were she could be, why I can’t feel her in the slightest…but I can’t think of that right now. Right now I need you to be my beta not my friend. We only have a couple of weeks before the party for the alliance, so please,drop it and focus on your duties” I say more sternly than intended.

He stares at me for a moment before saying , “ be honest, this isn’t just to show your appreciation to the other packs, it’s because there’s a chance that among their wolves is your mate.“

“There you go being my friend”

“Am I wrong though?”

“No.”

His laugh echoes my office “ I thought so”

“Shut up, maybe you’ll get lucky and find your mate! Or did you forget you’re also without a mate?”

His face drops “ uh..no no I did not..I’ll go make sure the preparations are going smoothly.” He says rushing out of my office.

Damion make sure the gamma has sent out the invitations. I tell him through our mind link

You got it, I’ll make sure he’s sent them and notify you as soon as he does.

Thanks, I’m going to let Blade out for a while, before he comes out on his own.you know how that can go.

Try not to need me

*laughs* yeah you got it

I cut the mind link and head for the woods. Blade has been just as annoying as Damion about finding our mate, hopefully a run will help us get our mind off of things for a while. I can only hope the moon goddess will bring my Luna to me during this party with the other packs.

CLAIRES POV

Claire bear please come to my office.

be right there dad give me a minute.

I say and cut the mind link. Here we go,Knowing him, he’s going to tell me something I won’t like, I wonder what it is this time. The last time he called me into his office we didn’t talk to each other for a week.

*knock knock* “hi dad, you needed me?”

“ hi there sweetheart, yes, come on in”

I go over to his desk and sit at one of the brown chairs I don’t like because they make my skin itch.

“Alright, what’s up, you only call me into your office to lecture me or for some official Alpha business”

“Haha, you’re right. Okay, listen I know you won’t like this but I am going to need you there with me.”

“Oh goddess were are we going now? “

“Alpha Austin has invited our pack to a celebration of sorts for the members of the alliance and we must attend”

“No no no no, you can’t make me go there dad, you know how I feel about him you know I despise that guy”

“Claire, it’s been years, he was kind enough to invite us and we will show up and show our respect as part of the alliance”

“Ugh! Why should I show him any respect at all? You’re the alpha you can go ahead and show him alll the respect you want, I however don’t owe him anything and goddess knows the last thing I’d show him is respect so you’re better off without me sorry”

“Claire! I maybe be the Alpha but you’re the future Alpha of this pack and you will attend! You were kids, kids are mean at times it just how it is. Im sure he’s a better person now, you need to leave all those hard feelings In the past.”

I stormed out of there after that. Is he serious leave it in the past?! I can’t believe this,the only reason he says it was just kids being kids is because he doesn’t know how truly awful he was and not just to me but hails as well. Austin was an a-hole,I hate him, him and his a-hole friends,i hate them all. “Alpha” my ass, to me he’ll always be the ass who would push me and Hayley around all because he didn’t like us. *gasp* wait a minute..if this little party of his is for Alphas.. that means not only will Austin and Damion be there but so will Logan and Dennis. Ughh this just gets better and better, goddess take me nowww. Well there’s only one thing that can make this party bearable..

I cut the mind link and run to her room.

“Hayley!”

“Clairee!”

Hayley has been my best-friend since we were pups and once I become alpha of the pack she will become beta even though she’s a bit hesitant, I know she’ll do great.

“We are going to a party”

“Ouu where? What should I wear? Who else is coming?”

I laugh “don’t get too excited, the great alpha Austin is having a party for the Alphas and we are obligated to attend”

“Nooo, that means we’ll see all those jerksss” she says whining

“That’s exactly what I said buuut you know dear old dad and his ways. “As future Alpha and beta you must show respect to Alpha Austin” so like it or not you’re coming”

“ Im really regretting agreeing to being beta right about now”

“I bet you are, but think about it this way, there will be a lot of unmated wolves at this Alpha thingy and you just never know when the moon goddess will bring you your mate”

“ well why didn’t you start there! We have to go shopping, we can’t wear just anything, this is gonna be so fun” she screams running out of her room

“ where are you going?!”

“To get my dads card I’ll see you in a bit!”

*laughs* gets her every time. Hayley and I are both still unmated, it’s not so unusual for her given she just turned 17 a few months ago and for those not of Alpha blood it can take any amount of time to find their mate. I however am 18, those with Alpha blood are supposed to find their mate as soon as they turn 17 but I’m almost 19 and still nothing. Maybe we’ll actually find our mates at this dreadful party.

LOGANS POV

*knock knock* “come in”

“Alpha, Beta” says the omega as he bows his head. “ we’ve received an invitation from Alpha Austin” he says as he hands me an envelope.

“Thank you Travis”

“Of course sir” he says and closes the door behind him.

“ An invitation? To what, do you know?”

“Not sure , let’s see”

I say as I rip open the envelope.

Dennis and I stare at each other for a few seconds before we burst out laughing. Knowing Rodgers this whole thing is probably just his way of trying to find his mate.

Dennis, Austin, Damion, and I have known each other since.. well since we were born . We all attended the academy for future alphas and betas together and it only strengthened our friendship.

Out of the four of us the only one who has found their mate is Dennis. I’m happy for him of course but it’s crazy to think that he’s found his mate and I haven’t, I should’ve found my Luna as soon as I turned 17 and yet, somehow, here I am unmated.

Maybe I deserve it, maybe this is my punishment for being so awful so cruel all those years ago. I knew it was wrong but I stood there, letting Austin and the others torture them, not doing anything when I very well could have.

“Do you think they’ll be there?” I ask Dennis

“ They? Or do you mean she?”

He asks me but I don’t answer, I don’t have to he knows the answer.

“I don’t know but I hope they aren’t , I wouldn’t be able to look them in the face not after everything we put them through”

“Yeah I know what you mean”

Claire Hewitt, goddess I’ve loved that girl since the day I met her. I was never brave enough to tell her though.

Instead I let myself be influenced by Austin, he couldn’t stand her and so we followed his cruel ways towards her, never questioning his actions or his reasons.

I’ll never forgive myself for the things we did to her and Hayley.I’m sure she hasn’t, she probably hates us for it and I wouldn’t blame her.

And still I hope to see her, even if it’s just a glimpse, just for a second. Maybe I could even get the chance to apologize for all that we did.
