After my early morning meeting with Teixeira, I spent the rest of the day at the school. The children that we’d brought back the previous evening where given toiletries and led to the showers. Once they were clean, they were all given new clothing. From the expressions on their faces, you could tell that they couldn’t believe that this was happening to them.
In the dining hall they were introduced to the other children who had already spent a few days at the school. In the beginning, the other children had stayed in their original groups, but Danni told me that they were already starting to form friendships outside their groups.
