CHAPTER 9

My eyes shoot open and lock on a man I've never seen before. A very naked man. I scream, I screech to the top of my lungs terrified about my situation. Why is he not dressed? Why is he in this mysterious cave with me? "Please he says, I mean you no harm Im the one who rescued you." Rescued me oh yes falling into the water and trying to swim but failing. I finally meet his eyes and my break catches. He's well hes beautiful. I've never come across another with odd hair and eye colors like myself. His wavy medium length pale blue hair with lilac highlights is down with some tucked behind his ears. He has the most mesmerizing magenta eyes. One word comes to mind when I look deep into them "Mate" I say before I can stop myself. "Yes love mate, we are half of one another I am so grateful the gods have given me this, you." No! Not again I can't do this. I start to cry again. He bends down and puts his hand on my check. He tilts my head up to look again once more, "Are you not happy?" he says disappointment written all over his face. "This isn't a trick is it?" I say "I can't take another rip in my chest." "What do you mean?" He says. "That's why I was alone in the woods my mate he rejected me he .." "HE WHAT?!" I startle and he calms back down. "You mean you had another mate and he rejected you?" "Yes, he banished me from my home. I didn't even get to say goodbye to my friends, my family. I just ran until well until I got here with you." He looks gutted for me. "I would never do that, I will only ever try to bring you happiness please know this." He grabs my hand and pulls it to his chest. "You are in here forever always my love from now on even after death." Is this really real? Whats happening? Gods please let this be true because if it is I won't be quite as alone as I thought I'd be. He pulls me to his chest as I cry against him and fall back asleep...
