CHAPTER 20

Deianira

After I talked with Leith about Timber time seemed to drag. The day was the longest since we left Audaqior. The sun was blistering, and I was so sweaty my clothes clung to me. Not to mention I was so far along now in pregnancy it felt like I was carrying around a pack on my own even though the men haven't let me lift a finger this whole trip. "I need a break" I say, "It's to hot, my feet are swollen and did I mention I'm as big as a whale. I need to take a break from toting this babygirl around." All three men look to me. They all move at once and Lorcan beats them to it as always my wolf man comes to my rescue. He scoops me up and carries me bridal style. "We are almost there mate, to the border of the under. The sun is about to set, we will find a place to stop for the night soon." Thank the gods for stopping and thank the gods for having a big strong alpha carrying me. I couldn't do it anymore. As we get closer to the border I notice dramatic changes. The first is the wind, its so strong its whipping my hair in different directions. The second thing is it seems as if when we cross it we will be in almost complete darkness. The trees are bare of any leaves. They are lifeless and look quite sharp and frightening. "This will be our most dangerous of our journey yet, this forest is enchanted. It likes to play tricks on you, makes you see things. Don't let it win. It's all an illusion. Love please stay close to one of us at all times" Leith says. He is pretty knowledgeable about this place. I need to ask him how that is, especially after what he told me happened to his family because of the under. I won't leave them though, as we enter the forest I move my eyes back and forth between them to make sure they are beside me. I make Lorcan put me down and we walk slowly. Like I predicted once stepping over the border we are almost in complete darkness. I hear some shuffling on my left and look to see Timber create fire in his palm lighting up the space around us. "One of my abilities" he says, " Higher ups in rank and strength get a special ability gifted from the gods. Mine is the ability to wield fire." That will come in handy on the rest of our journey I think. We continue on with no problems or tricks from trees. Once we make it a good distance the guys decide to make camp. Timber starts the fire this time, Leith and Lorcan get the bedding ready and food started. I sit close by the fire and Timber surprisingly sits next to me. "I wanted to apologize to you for everything cruel I've said" He says. "Don't Timber I understand. I heard what you said to Leith the other night. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, I woke while your explained your reasonings behind not wanting to bond. I get it and as long as you are here with me, with us that's all that matters to me. We could be unbonded a thousand years and id still want you around. For me and for little one" I rub my stomach. "I'm glad the gods put us in a path to meet. I feel even more protected with you by our side. I'm glad your apart of this family. You can always be if you want?" I say finally looking up at him. He's shocked, so many emotions cross his face, "Thank you" he says. "I wont let any of you down. Ill think about the forever part though. Lorcan is a pain in my ass" he actually winks at me and I blush. So he does have a soft side, I like it. When we finish our conversation Leith brings me a plate of food and we dig in. After we eat we all lay down. I lay down with Lorcan again. Leith and Timber are on the other side of the fire with both their backs turned away from us. I run my fingers threw his blond locks and he actually purrs. He looks up at me and takes my mouth in his. We kiss for what seems like forever. Each touch lights a fire in my lower belly and I start to kiss him frantically. He rolls and pulls me over on top of him. "Lorcan the others" I say. "They are asleep I can tell." I look over at them, only the light up and down form their breathing. "Please mate I need you, I cant wait anymore. Your so perfect and so beautiful. I need to be one with you, let me mark you claim you." Immediately I start grinding against him and he groans. This is it I will finally be one with my wolf man. We take our clothes off and I straddle him once more. I take hold of him and line him up, I slowly sink down on him. We both gasp and a little moan escapes me. He's a tad bigger then Leith and Tarkik so it stinks a little. "That's it mate claim what's yours. Make yourself feel good." I'm frantic in my movements. I so much all at once. I lock eyes with him. "Your eyes" he says, "Glowing and so perfect." I don't respond I just lean down and bite his neck. He moans so loud I'm afraid he woke the others. Suddenly he flips us as gently as possible and enters me once more. His pace picks up, and we fall over the edge together. He latches onto my neck and bites. When he does I fall again once more. I feel it our connection brighter then ever before. "I love you" he speaks in my mind. "Forevermore boss lady" I laugh and say "I love you my wolf man, forevermore."

We fall asleep naked and satisfied. Later in the night is when I start to hear the whispers. "Deianira, Deianira wake up." I open my eyes to a women looming over me. I scream and look to my side but Lorcan isn't there. None of my men are here. Am I dreaming? "Yes" the women says, "Your dreaming, it's the only way I can speak with you at the moment." "Who are you?" I say, but I already know the answer to the question in my bones before she speaks. "I am Rhamnousia, your mother." My mother is the goddess of revenge? So many emotions run through me. Anger, betrayal, sorrow. All these memories float to the surface. Little me holding my mothers hand walking in a beautiful field of wild flowers. Her leaving me in the cold barefoot and scared. I come to the conclusion I really hate this women. Before I respond I take note of her. We don't have the same hair. Hers is brown but we look just alike in looks. My brown almost black eye I got from her, I don't care. "I don't give a f**k why your here, leave and never speak to me again." "Save the dramatics dear daughter this is serious he's coming for you. You mustn't let him win. You have some of your mates that's good. You will need them all for the upcoming battle." Is she talking about Tarkik? We are handling it aren't we? "That's all I can say for now I must go, please daughter stay safe and keep my granddaughter safe." She looks lovingly at my stomach. She runs her hair along my hair and disappears. I jolt awake breathing hard. I find all my men surrounding me. "Are you okay love? We tried waking you but you wouldn't wake." Leith says, "Was it the forest playing tricks?" "No" I say, "It was my birth mother." They all look shocked so I go into detail what happened. "If he is to start a war then we must find and stop him" Timber says. "We told boss lady we are going to try and find a way around Tarkiks death and that's what we are going to continue doing." Lorcan says and I give him a grateful smile. Timber huffs and says "you would risk all the kingdoms on a mate who rejected you?!" Oh he's back to being an asshole. That didn't last long, "He's not just a mate who rejected me. He was my childhood love. He rejected me to protect me I know that now. I will save him for myself and our daughter" I say. Timber has eyes full of regret, he didn't really know about me and Tarkik we've never really talked. He sees know that our stories are somewhat similar. I don't care though, he continues to hurt me after his apology he can f**k right off. I stand forgetting I am naked from the night before but I don't have a care in the world. I dress as fast as possible and say, "Pack up and lets finish this. I want the answers for Tar." "Yes ma'am" Lorcan says and even his playfulness wont stop my wrath now. I will fix him I know it....
