The Alpha's Daughter's Mate

Chapter 2

"Hello, can I help you?" I asked the stranger after a couple of seconds.

"You are even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined." Came the stranger's reply, but a sudden low growl was coming from behind the stranger. Kris was fuming with this stranger's comment.

The stranger turns sharply and growls back at Kris and asked, "What is your problem mutt?"

"The only mutt I see is you, and I would appreciate it if you didn't talk to my mate that way!" Kris says through gritted teeth.

Just then my father walks up, "Alpha King Charles, welcome and what do I owe the pleasure of hosting you this evening?"

"Did you forget about the deal I had with your father Alpha Richard? I came to collect what is mine." The man that I now know as the Alpha King says then turn towards Kris and says, "After her first shift she will reject you and become my Queen."

"How about we come in from the cold and have this conversation in my office." My father replies.

"She is suppose to be ready for travel to her new home by her first shift, is she?" The Alpha King questioned.

This made my head spin towards my father and I cannot believe what I'm hearing. "Father what is he talking about, I'm not going anywhere with this man, King or not. Kris is my mate and I'm not going to reject him."

"Winter, I'll handle this now go get the staff to send up some refreshments." My father says while holding my shoulders and looking into my eyes.

"No, I'm going to be in there with you. If this concerns me, I want to know why." I say.

"And I'm coming too, after all she is my mate." Kris says while his aura is getting stronger and waves of anger starts rolling off him.

"This pup isn't family and has no business in this meeting." The Alpha King says as his aurora screams bow down to me.

I look at Kris in shock but he's not bowing and neither am I, only my father is. How could this be. I'm standing there confused as to why we're not bothered by the King's demanding aura like my father apparently is.

As we walk into my father's office, the Alpha King sits down on my father's chair. This angers me, "Alpha King or not, you are a guest here and this is my father's office, so I will only say this once. GET OUT OF MY FATHER'S CHAIR!" I said through gritted teeth as I was seething.

Kris grabs my hand and lightly squeezes, this action has me calming down. It's been this way since he got his wolf. That's what makes me believe more that he is my mate.

"First things first, take your filthy hand off what belongs to me mutt. Secondly he has no right to be here as this is a family matter." The Alpha King says as waves of anger fills the room as he stares at our hands. Yet again Kris nor me seem affected by this.

"She is my mate, the one the moongodess gave to complete me. No one is going to take her from me." Kris said forcefully as he grabs my waist with his hand and lightly pushes me behind him. I can feel Kris' aura get stronger and stronger. It's starting to make the room feel small and a bit stuffy with these two and their over demanding auras.

I look at my father that has his eyes bulged out of his head in almost a comical way if the situation wasn't so bad.

Then my eyes wonder towards the Alpha King and he is just sitting there. He has a glint of confusion flash across his face but it doesn't last long.

"Mutt, who is your alpha?" Alpha King Charles asked Kris.

Before Kris can speak, I make my way back to Kris' side and speak, "My mate is the future Alpha of his pack. Alpha William is set to retire in just a month and Kris will take over." I beam with pride as I talk about my mate and his eyes show so much love and adoration as he stares at me smiling.

Oh that smile. It's a smile that I pray I always get to see everyday and soon, every morning.

(Alpha King Charles POV)

This mutt is a future Alpha. And judging by his aura, he's the one my seer has warned me about. The one that will take my throne from me. I knew The next female Alpha from Moonstar pack would be Queen. I was just hoping that she wouldn't know who her mate would have been. My plan had been to take her away from her pack before she found out. Her knowing is going to be a set back in my plans to make her MY Queen. I've already decided that she will be going home with me one way or another.
