I couldn't process everything I heard and witnessed. There were too many unanswered questions. I'll ask them later. When they finally left, I got out from under the table and ran towards her. She was sobbing uncontrollably, and the only thing I could think of was to help her out of there as soon as possible before someone else came in to find her in this state. I had to find out how this all happened.
"C'mon! Let's get you dressed and out of here as soon as possible before someone comes in seeing you like this. How did this even happen!?" She couldn't even respond. She just kept crying. I quickly hugged her while rubbing her head, "shh... It's ok. No one will hurt you. Let's get you out of here, and we'll talk. I need to know what happened so I can help you." She nodded and proceeded to get up.
I turned back to see Corey turning to leave. The questions I have, cannot be answered now. I must ask him after helping this girl. I grabbed her hands, and we left the locker room straight into the parking lot with no one in sight.
"Thanks for helping me," she uttered.
What is she talking about? I didn't do anything... Corey was the one who got those guys to leave. "If it weren't for you and that guy, I wouldn't have been able to leave."
I nodded for her to continue.
"I can't tell you anything. I'm sorry. I don't want to drag you into this. Please understand. It's best if I go now. You did not see anything, remember? You must understand. Or else, we'll be in deeper s**t than you can ever imagine," she abruptly stated and ran off.
I didn't even get her name! Why won't she tell me? I could've helped her.
*RING RING!!!*
The bell rang, indicating lunch was over. I need to find Corey now. I ran past the crowds hastily looking for Corey, but he was nowhere to be found. Just as I turned the other way, I bumped into someone.
"Ahh!" I yelped.
"Woah, are you ok? I didn't see you coming," he apologized.
"Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't look either," I groaned.
As I stepped aside to keep walking, he stopped me, "Hey, I've never seen you here before. You're new here. What's your name?"
I didn't want to sound rude, "Sorry, I have to go."
"Wait, you seem to be in a rush. I can try and help you," he offered.
"Uh, yeah sure. Do you know where Corey could possibly be? I'm looking for him."
He flashed a smile, "Glad you ask. I was on my way to see him. What a coincidence. I'll take you to him. Let's go."
I was hesitant to follow him. I didn't even know him. After what happened, I don't know if I can trust anyone in this school.
He saw my hesitation and chuckled, "It's ok, I won't bite. Besides, you never told me your name, so I'll tell you mine first. The name's Alex." He flashed the same smile. Only this time, he held out his hand to shake mine. As much as I feel hesitant about all this, I need to talk to Corey now.
