Corey's POV
I remember how much I loathed this place called home and anything involving it. Oh senior year, let's hope this year hurries up because when it's done, I'm leaving for good. As I walked up to the school entrance, I heard someone running toward me, but I didn't feel like caring until I was shoved.
"Why'd you do it?! Why'd you leave her out there in the cold?!"
I turned to face him. Well, that'll be interesting. He grabbed my shirt in so much rage. That kind of rage is such a familiar feeling.
"Get your dirty hands off me. Who are you even talking about?" I said uninterestedly.
"Anna! Don't act like you don't remember! You bastard! I'll make you pay!" he yelled.
A crowd formed around us. Now, this is even more interesting. I smirked, "Ohh... now I remember," I chuckled. "She's the desperate slut. If she acts that desperate again, it'll be much worse."
I see the flames in his eyes, and that excites me. Time to teach this guy a lesson. He threw a punch at my jaw, and that was my cue. The first day of school isn't too bad now, but I'd have to admit, I was getting bored of beating him up. He wasn't even throwing punches correctly, yet he wanted to stand up for that pathetic slut. What an imbecile.
Just as I was finishing up, a girl came out of nowhere and hovered over him. Was she not afraid I might hurt her? I stopped and stared at her to see what she would do. This is also interesting. Someone is defending this imbecile. She might just be another imbecile.
A soft voice broke me out of my thoughts. That voice belonged to her. I wanted her to turn around, and she did just that. My breath hitched as I stared into those beautiful eyes. Those green, hazel eyes made me forget those around us. I've never seen her before, she must be new. She looked so vulnerable and those tears. Why does seeing her like this bother me? She opened her mouth to speak, but I couldn't seem to focus. My eyes were on those lips.
"Please stop... he's bleeding," she pleaded.
Does she like him? She turned away, and I saw that she was still nervous. The staff showed up, and the crowd dispersed. As we got escorted into the building, I turned around to see what she was doing. She stared back at me, not tearing her gaze away. Well, that's a start, because she's got guts. Spending the rest of the day at the nurse's office was nothing extraordinary.
"Corey, please don't get into another fight, or you just might get expelled," sighed the nurse.
"I didn't start anything. That imbecile came for me. I just took care of him, so maybe, next time, he'll think before acting. Acting upon emotion can be dangerous, you know Ms. Smith?" I lightly said as I glimpsed out the window. People don't understand and like to jump to conclusions. They just assume you're always the bad one. So I became the bad one.
