Brrrrrring!!!! My alarm goes off, waking me up from my beauty sleep.

"Uuughhhhh... I don't want to go to school today..." I groaned as I tossed and turned to find a comfortable position.

"WAKE UPPPP MIA!! IT'S YOUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL HONEY!" yelled mom from downstairs.

She sounds more ecstatic than I am. I plopped myself up and debated if I wanted to walk or drive to school today. Slowly getting myself ready for the shower, I glanced at myself in the mirror, "One more year and we're done, Mia. You can do this!" I can't believe I'm talking to myself, but hey it works because here I am, getting ready for school. I took a shower, got dressed, and almost forgot my phone on my desk. As I walked into the kitchen, I saw my mom making the most delicious breakfast. What would I do without her? I decided to walk behind her and hug her.

"I love you mom. Thank you for all you do and for waking me up," I giggled.

She responded, "I love you so much honey. Thank you for being amazing as well and getting up for school. Breakfast is ready. Come sit down and have some before you head to school." I smiled, nodded, and sat down to wait for her.

Dad makes his way into the kitchen too. "Good morning princess," he smiles at me and walks to mom," and good morning to you too, my love," giving her a kiss that made her blush and giggle.

My parents have always expressed their love for one another, and that's the kind of love I wish others to have. The unconditional always and forever one.

"Have you talked to Luke yet?" Mom asked while bringing the food to the table. "It's the first day of school, and he's been gone all summer at his family retreat. This is your first day going to Luke's school. I'm sure you'll have a great senior year."

"No, he hasn't responded to any texts I sent. I'll see if he comes to school today. If he doesn't, I'll stop by his house afterward," I shrugged and took a bite of my delicious breakfast. I find it odd how Luke didn't respond to my text all summer, but I'm sure it's because he was having fun, so I'm not worried.

"I'll be walking to school today. I'd love some fresh air, so I'll see you two later," I got up to hug mom and dad and made my way out the door. Luke's school is closer to my home compared to my old school. Now I have the option to walk or drive.

"Ahhh......... fresh air. Today's a beautiful day! Walking to school was the right choice," I squealed. Did I mention I love exploring nature? That feeling of being one with the wind, the breeze dancing on my skin, and the cool fresh air that allows me to be free.

I finally get to the school parking lot, and there seems to be a commotion ahead. What's going on? I think I'll avoid drama, especially on the first day of school. I was just about to turn my head and continue walking when I spotted someone familiar in the crowd... LUKE?!
