Mum and Elliott went together for a fundraiser. I was so happy to see her all bubbly and happy after the meltdown she had yesterday. Since none of them brought it up, I went with the flow and commended her outfit. “You look gorgeous, Mum. And rather dashing, Elliott.” When they left, I told Hilda she could go to her quarters — that I’d fix breakfast for Brian and myself. I did that on impulse without thinking, and it was only when she left that I realized I didn’t really know what Brian liked.
