I took a deep breath before picking up the call.
“Alice! What’s wrong with you? Do you understand the weight of what you’ve done? Do you think this is some kind of child’s play?”
“I’ve told your mum—if this business flops, everyone will feel it. How do you think we afford your expensive school and clothes? Where do you think your allowance comes from?”
He didn’t even give me space to speak before continuing his rant.
“If anything happens to the business because of this—if the investors pull out—I’ll cut your allowance and send you to some community college. You can be close to those you feel so sorry for.”
