Alice's POV
The pilot announced that it was safe to unbuckle our seat belts.
Almost immediately, Brian did just that, and I followed right after.
He stood up and settled onto the long couch lining the side of the cabin.
I took the opposite end, keeping as much distance as possible.
It was quiet. Weirdly quiet.
The flight attendant emerged from the galley, a soft, professional smile on her lips.
"Good day, Mr. Brian," she said warmly, her eyes flickering toward me. “Ma'am."
“I'm Kate, your flight attendant for this flight. If there’s anything you need, please don’t hesitate to ask. The special menu you requested is standing by," she finished, her gaze now fully on Brian. “Exactly how you like it."
My eyes snapped to her — then to him.
