“Let’s be in a relationship.”
That was the first thing Brian said the moment we reached the back of the building. No greeting. No context. No warning.
He just dropped it.
I blinked, stunned. My lips parted, but no words came out right away. I just stared at him, confused and almost amused by the sheer boldness of it.
He really thought he could just walk up to me, say the words, and I’d what, jump into his arms? Giggle and fall head-over-heels? Did he think this was a fairytale?
If he wanted to play games, fine. I was fluent in that language.
