They are there permanently stuck in my mind; it is like trying to wash the paint off a car with a sponge. I flip the radio on, the sound of music filling the car, as I drive the rest of the way to work. I pull into the drive.
Seductive Vibrations. I have missed this place. Maybe now that I have decided to stay home more, I can put this place to use for myself?
I know deep down that I won't, though. I get out and walk in and instantly greeted by all the staff and guests.
"Welcome back, Mr Reeves, are you back for a while or just a quick visit?" The receptionist looks at me.
"Unsure yet Mandy, where is Sarah?" I need a quick update, and she is the only one who can give it.
"Sarah has just gone to her office, Sir" I nod and walk through; she is sat with a client.
"Mr Reeves, it is great to see you. Our guest was just leaving" Really, this is my business, and that is how she treats our guests?
I watch as the young man stands up and walks out, sitting down opposite her, I get comfy.
"Right, a quick breakdown of how things have been please" She nods leaning forward a smile on her face.
"It really is great to see you, Mr. Reeves, are you here for a while or just a quick visit?" She looks at me, and I shake my head.
"Pleasure can wait, please. I have arrangements and just need a quick update" She nods, not put off by my knocking her back, yet again.
"All seems to be fine, a few issues with guests, but nothing major" I nod to her.
"Any issues from now let me know, I can deal with them now I am back. Please, next time say goodbye to the guest, don't just say they are leaving."
She nods as I get up and walk out, I want to stay. Check on the place, see the guests and talk to them.
Unfortunately, thanks to Liam, I don't have time. Getting in the car I drive home, quickly washing and getting changed, I head out. How great is this?
Me going to some woman's birthday party I don't even know. Why Liam wants me there, I have no idea. I get a taxi down the club and walk in, Liam there by himself.
He walks over and hands me a glass.
Why am I here, Liam?" He smiles at me, and it is that same smile that means, I have a plan, which always fails.
"Well. Alena, the one I was telling you about whose party this is. I really like her Jackson; I don't know why. I just thought having you here may help me, somehow. Plus, no one believes you exist because they have never met you".
I would rather not meet those in his life; if they are like him they are children.
"Wow, little Liam trying to be a man, this is a first" He laughs and nods.
"Time has gone by fast; I have changed just like you. Is that a new tattoo?" I look down to where he is pointing, of course, it is.
"Honestly, Jack, you need a new look. This big bad beard and tattoo thing is doing you no favours in getting a woman".
Maybe it's not, but my look is my look. I won't change it to fit society and find a woman, and I could have a woman just none seem to be for me.
"Liam, I will let the whole how I look go, but I swear you call me that again your head will be up your own arse, then Alena won't see you like the pretty boy you hope she sees you as.!" He looks at me nodding, his hands holding up.
"Sorry. It was dads name; Jack is short for Jackson. You could be named after worse people" I could, but my dad is not someone I want to be named after.
He of all people should know that what he did to our mother was disgusting, he needs to let it go.
"She's here" I see his goofy look, the totally smitten by her look; maybe this is the woman to sort him out and make him grow up?
"Liam" The woman stands next to him, and I hide the laughter, this is Alena? He has no chance. She hugs him, then turns to me. Her hand stroking along my arm. I look at her and move slightly.
"Georgina this is my brother Jackson, Jackson this is Georgina one of the flatmates" I smile at her, so it isn't Alena, I am grateful because even I can see she doesn't see him as anything but a friend.
"Nice to meet you, Georgina" Her hand strokes along my arm again, as she smiles up to me.
"Hi, it is so nice to meet you. I have been waiting ages since Liam mentioned you. You're in the navy, right?" Her hand continues to stroke my arm, she's one of them women.
I see it, I want it I will get it. She is stunning, tall, blonde and killer legs, but really not my type at me. She's too much in my eyes.
"Alena's here," Liam says it quiet and I turn at see the fiery red hair waving, the short woman walking towards us.
"Hey, you must be Alena. Happy birthday, I'm Jackson by the way – it's nice to meet you" I smile at her as she stares back at me.
She seems shy, or nervous a mixture of both; she stands to stare at me while I wait for a reply, is she going to reply?
"Thank you, Jackson, it is nice to finally put a face to the name. Liam has mentioned you quite a lot" My eyes roll at her words, typical Liam, uses his brother to try draw women in.
She looks at me interested, her eyes glancing at Georgina and suddenly she changes, she goes from interested to I quit almost instantly.
"Well, let's get some drinks, I will get these ones" I smile at her and see her looking back towards Georgina, whose hand still stroking me, really?
