I look at her, sitting here in a club full of her friends. Her birthday yet she is hiding away, why is she hiding away? I look at Liam; he doesn't deserve her, hell if he liked her that much, he wouldn't have left her side tonight. Yet there he is dancing with another woman, but in his mind, he is going to make a move on Alena? "Hey, isn't this for your birthday? You don't seem to be enjoying it very much. You've hardly moved from this table all night. Why are you sitting in the corner like baby" I point around the room. "Well, I would rather be in the corner, unlike baby who had no choice, her daddy put her there, me I am happy here hiding, considering the fact I don't do all these parties, people, and things" I nod, how did Liam get tonight so wrong? "I have not done this in years, my idea of a fun night is watching tv with a glass of wine, or any alcohol really. You can tell that seeing as I only know Liam and Georgina here, I don't get out much" I laugh, yet her 'Any alcohol really' tells me she drinks to hide from something. Liam doesn't deserve her, if he liked her that much he would have known she would have hated this, hell I can tell she hates it, and I don't know her. "Well, you should at least enjoy your birthday" She should, and this isn't enjoying her birthday at all. "To be honest, I have to be at work for 10, so tonight would have been an early night" Typical Liam, no care if she has work, he could not even do it on a night where she can enjoy herself. I reach down into my pocket to grab my phone and check the time. Her eyes following my hand, I fight back the smile as I see her eyes so obviously look at my bulge and try to make it less obvious. It is 1:45, she has work she shouldn't be forced to sit here and enjoy something she clearly hates. "I can walk you home if you like? It is nearly two" Her eyes dart up to mine in shock, and I wink at her, I will walk her home, that is all, Liam is interested, and until he tries and knocks her back, I won't get in the way. I would love to, but I won't. "Okay, thank you, I will find Georgina and Liam and let them know I am leaving" I nod as she gets up and walks towards the dance floor, I will behave tonight, I watch as she reaches Liam, his grin getting bigger like a child that's just be handed that ultimate toy they dreamt of. His hand grabs hers, and I can see his mouth moving as he talks to her and they dance. That look, he is actually going to kiss her, I smile watching. Liam finally taking the plunge, she starts talking and his face changes from full of love to hate as he stares at me. She knew he was going to kiss her; damn everyone could tell he was about to. She clearly doesn't want him to kiss her. She rushes back towards me like she is trying to get away from Liam as quickly as she can. "All sorted, I am ready to go" She looks at me, and I smile down to her. She seems on edge from Liam's move; she certainly didn't want that. "Come on then Kitten, let's get you home" I smile at her as we walk towards the door of the club to leave, Georgina stood staring at us, I slide past and leave them to talk. "Where are you two going?" Georgina's voice loud, Alena rolls her eyes at her. "I am going home, Jackson is going to walk me, remember I have work tomorrow, I will send him right back, don't worry" I smile, I don't plan to come back and certainly not for Georgina. "Are you sure you want to do that Alena?" Georgina looks at her worried then to me, and I see a glimpse of hurt in Alena's eyes, is that from Georgina trying to stop her leaving with me or something else? Alena turns and walks past, almost like she is telling herself to do it. She walks to me, and I grab her arm linking it through mine, I see Georgina's worried expression. Why is she worried? She trusted me enough to dance with me and try it on, grope me, yet she is worried for Alena? I thought at first that maybe she was jealous, but that isn't why. There is something else, and I just can't put my finger on it. We walk out together, and I can still see Georgina's worried expression, I won't let Alena get hurt if that is what she thinks. "So, Liam didn't look too happy that you were leaving" I look at her, waiting to see if she says anything about him trying to kiss her and her knocking him back. "Yeah, to be honest, I wish I hadn't even gone to say goodbye, I realised he was trying to kiss me, or at least building up the courage to. It would feel wrong; I don't seem him like that. They both forget that person isn't me anymore, the going out and drinking." I look at her confused and intrigued; she is not old enough to feel she is too old to go out to clubs, Liam didn't mention she had kids, does she have kids? I am glad she mentioned the kiss; it means she didn't want it. "Yeah, the whole club probably noticed he was about to kiss you, what do you mean by that's not you anymore? So, you used to enjoy things like that before?" I look at her smiling, trying to get a bit of information out of her; she doesn't have kids. She is too smart for that to be it, so why doesn't she? I don't like this; she is like a mystery that I need to figure out and it sure as hell isn't easy. From what Liam has said, I don't know much either. He speaks about her, yes, but mostly to say how infatuated with her he is. "Yes, used too not anymore, things change, things happen and well, I never really feel comfortable anymore around people", I nod at her; I won't ask about it. I can see the awkward feeling in her eyes and hurt, whatever it is that happened and made her change scares her, and I won't make her relive it by telling me, not tonight anyway. "So, you met Liam and Georgina and university then?". She shakes her head, looking at me.
