The Knighthaven Pack usually woke up to patrol howls every morning. But not today.
Today, it was Tasha's bloodcurdling scream that woke them up.
The sun had barely begun to rise, its golden rays reflected on the grand windows of the Alpha’s mansion, but the house was already thrown into chaos as the Tasha's disheveled figure came barreling down the hallway.
Dressed in nothing but her silk nightgown—an unheard taboo for a woman of noble blood—Tasha’s wild, unkempt hair whipped around her face, but she didn’t care. Not when her life was on the line.
"Mother help, I'm doomed!" She cried, her bare feet slapping against the cold marble floors as she ran towards the Luna's room.
Surely, Tasha hoped. Surely, her stepmother will her a solution for this mess. But instead, her etiquette teacher found her first.
"Lady Tasha!" Mrs Watts gaped in horror as she saw the state of her pupil. The elderly woman with long bony hands dropped the thick book of noble decorum clutched to her chest. "What in the Goddess’s name are you—? This is indecent! You cannot—"
But Tasha didn’t stop.
With a force that surprised even herself, she shoved the poor woman aside and continued her mad dash down the hall. Mrs. Watts stumbled back, gasping in outrage, but Tasha was already gone.
She reached Sylvia’s chambers in seconds and burst through the heavy doors without knocking, sucking in desperate breaths. "Mother, where are you! I'm doomed."
Three pair of eyes looked up at the same time. Luna Sylvia was gracefully declining on a plush chaise, flanked by her daughters, Talia and Anni. Tasha's two step-sisters, dressed in their elegant morning robes, looked up in surprise at Tasha’s frenzied entrance.
"What the hell..." Talia started, but was interrupted by their mother who sighed, setting down her teacup.
"Don't be rude Talia, now leave us,” she instructed her daughters, standing up and walking towards Tasha.
Talia and Anni exchanged a glance but obeyed. Glancing between their mom and Tasha, they stood, their silk robes swishing as they exited the room, shutting the door behind them.
As soon as the door closed behind them, Tasha collapsed into Sylvia’s arms, sobs raking her petite frame.
“I’m doomed, mother. I don’t know what to do!” she wailed, clinging to her stepmother like a child. “Please, you have to do something about it!”
"Hush now darling." Sylvia stroked her back. "Breathe,” she soothed. “Tell me what’s wrong.”
Tasha hiccuped, her fingers trembling as she reached for her phone. "I just woke up this morning....hic... Hanna called me... here."
She barely managed to unlock it with her shaking hands before shoving the device into Sylvia’s face. “Just look!” she choked out.
Sylvia’s gaze lowered to the screen.
A grainy video of a young girl tangled in silk sheets played. She didn’t have to look twice to know it was Tasha, or at least, she looked like Tasha, was moving atop a faceless man. She stifled a moan, tilting her head backwards in pleasure—
It was sinful. To Tasha? A death sentence.
Sylvia’s fingers paused mid-stroke on Tasha’s back.
“Oh, my.”
Tasha grabbed her hand in a death grip. “It’s not me!” she cried. “Someone framed me! If Father sees this, I’m dead! You have to take it down, mother. Please!”
Sylvia sighed, staggering backward. “Tasha,” she murmured, “you know as well as I do that a noble she-wolf’s reputation is everything.”
Tasha let out a strangled sob. “I know! That’s why you have to help me!”
To any noble-born she-wolf, reputation was priceless.
Their virtue was their currency, their value. The wealthiest Alpha houses sought out the purest, well groomed daughters to ensure the continuity of their noble bloodlines. Even a mere rumor of infidelity could leave a woman shunned —forever scorned, discarded like a soiled garment.
But a s*x video?
If it spread, it wouldn’t just ruin her. It would taint the entire family.
Now that is out, the scandal would spiral beyond control if left unchecked.
Sylvia exhaled deeply, as if burdened with an impossible weight.
“It will be difficult,” she said at last, cupping Tasha’s tear-streaked face. “But I will do everything in my power for my darling daughter.”
“Thank you.. thank you Luna. I knew i could count on you.” Tasha collapsed into the Luna's arms, repeating her thanks over and over, her body wracked with relieved sobs.
She didn’t see the smirk that curled at Sylvia’s lips. Nor did she feel the cold amusement in the way her fingers traced soothing patterns against her back.
“Poor, foolish girl.” Sylvia smirked, gently laying Tasha’s sleeping form on her bed, covering her with her a soft blanket.
“By the time you wake up, it'll be your nightmare. “
…
Tasha have no idea how long she had been asleep when a loud bang jolted her awake.
The heavy doors of the Luna's room slammed against the wall, shaking the paintings that hung nearby. She barely had time to process what was happening before a booming voice filled the room.
“There you are, you disgusting, disgraceful w***e!”
Her older brother, Fred, stood in the doorway heaving, his muscles straining as his half-shifted form loomed over her.
“You have the guts to sleep after the sinful acts you commit!?” His pointed a clawed finger at her, his canines elongated—even in her groggy state, Tasha knew he barely holding back his wolf.
“Fred—” Tasha started, scrambling back frightened but was interrupted.
“You dare say my name? After what you’ve done?” he roared, stepping forward. The room shrank around her as his suffocating fury filled every inch of space.
Tasha barely had time to react before he lunged.
She shrieked, springing off the bed and diving behind the only shield she could find—Luna Sylvia who had hurried back into the room.
“Fred, enough!” Sylvia’s ordered, throwing her arms in front of Tasha to prevent her son’s advance. “You will not attack your sister Can't you see she's going through enough already?”
“Sister? Sister you say?” Fred let out a dry, humorless laugh before his glare snapped back to Tasha. “She stopped being my sister the moment she spread her legs for the whole damn world to see!”
“I didn’t—”
“You ruined us!” Fred spat, ignoring her weak protests. “And it’s all your fault, Mother.” He turned his scorn on Sylvia now, his lip curling in disgust. “You spoiled her, never being strict to her regarding her studies, instead, running around with those sluts. If you had disciplined her, we wouldn’t be the laughingstock of the entire damn community!”
“The deed is already done. Pointing fingers won’t fix this.” Sylvia chided.
“No, but actions would.”
Before Sylvia could say anything more, a soft knock echoed through the room. A young maid stood at the entrance, her hands twisting nervously in her apron. “L-Luna Sylvia… the Alpha has requested your presence. All of you.”
A chill crawled up Tasha’s spine.
No. No, no, no.
Her knees buckled, and fresh terror swallowed her whole. “Mother,” she whispered, clinging to Sylvia’s arm like a lifeline. “Please. Please don’t let him do this.”
For the first time, Sylvia did not offer comfort.
Tasha barely remembered walking to the Alpha’s study, barely noticed the grand hallways that once made her feel safe. Her body moved on autopilot, her mind filled with dread as they walked towards the conference room.
The moment they stepped inside, a powerful wave of pheromones hit her hard.
Alpha Ivan was furious.
His dark hair stood spiked, his usually composed features twisted in an expression of barely contained rage. His power crackled in the air, suffocating.
Mistress Marie, Tasha’s mother, sat to his right, her face filled with worried lines. To his left, Elder Irene, the former Luna and the woman who once doted on Tasha, looked at her as if she were filth on her shoes.
The rest of the family took their seats—Fred, Ulfric, her sisters, all gathered like a jury ready to pass judgment.
Alpha Ivan turned, his heavy gaze landing on Tasha like a death sentence. Then, he exhaled.
“By now, I believe everyone is aware of what this wretched girl has done,” he said icily. “I won’t waste my time elaborating.”
Tasha hiccuped, but the Alpha continued anyway.
“I’ve only gathered you here to try and contain the damage before it becomes beyond repair.”
“Hmph,” Elder Irene harrumphed, cutting in. “And how do we contain it, Ivan?”
Ivan's eyes never left Tasha. “The solution is quite simple.” His voice carried an air of finality. “We force a bond for her, and have the world believe the video was with her mate—that it was a private moment, not a scandal.”
The room fell into stunned silence.
Tasha’s breath hitched in her throat, she swayed on her feet.
A forced bond.
Her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto her knees, shaking her head in disbelief.
“No,” she whispered, tears spilling down her cheeks. “Father, please—” She turned to her father, crawling toward him, her trembling hands clutching at the hem of his coat. “I’m not the girl in the video! You can’t punish me for something I didn’t do!”
But Ivan didn’t respond, simply tugging away his coat without sparing her a glance.
She whipped around, desperate, her pleading eyes finding Sylvia.
The Luna’s lips were pressed into a thin line, she too remains silent.
Tasha’s sobs grew violent. She turned to her mistress Marie. “Mother, please! Anything but a forced bond—it’s a curse! I—I might die! You can send me to school…or even to uncle's pack. I'll accept anything else!”
But mistress Marie looked away, her lips trembling as she suppressed a sob.
Tasha's heart broke as she turned to Fred and Ulfric, but their faces held nothing but disgust.
Seeing no hope, she crawled to Elder Irene, grasping the woman’s knee like a drowning victim clinging to driftwood. “Grandma please,” she sobbed,“You’ve always loved me—”
But Irene's claws tore into the back of her hand before she could continue.
“Let go of me, you filth!” Tasha gasped, jerking back as sharp nails dug into her flesh. Blood welled from the scratches, but the pain was nothing compared to the icy words that followed.
“You are a disgrace,” Elder Irene sneered, yanking her leg away. “And I will not allow you to tarnish our family’s honor any further. Be grateful I didn’t have you hanged.”
Ivan cleared his throat. “We're done here.” He stood from his seat.
“Guards.”
Two warriors stepped forward.
“Lock her in her room,” he ordered, “No one is allowed to visit her.”
Tasha shook her head wildly, stumbling back. “No, father. You can't do this! I'm innocent please—”
But he was already leaving. The guards grabbed her arms as she thrashed. “NO! Father—please, I’ll do anything—”
No one listened. No one cared.
As she was dragged away, the last thing she saw was Alpha Ivan turning his back on her.
Her fate was sealed.
