I could always tell exactly where Enya was, just as I could my other four mates. It wasn’t just the increase in scent; it was almost like a whole new sense, a sixth sense that meant I just knew who and where they were.
Finally, I heard the door open. Enya and Shula stepped in, and Lomdi stiffened. Clearly, she was affected by the mate bond, but she was also terrified.
Enya and Shula sat on the edge of the bed, not far from where Lomdi and I were sitting on the floor. I watched as Lomdi took quick glances up at Shula.
“I guess we should start with introductions. Lomdi, this is Shula; she works with Queen Enya. Shula, this is Lomdi; she is a newly shifted Kitsune,” I said, not wanting to introduce her as the assassin sent to kill me.
