I was beyond frustrated at the moment. I wasn’t sure if my cover had been blown when I saved Vida from the assassin, so I had been lying low and trying everything in my power to locate or even just identify the assassin.
I have nothing. I don’t know their species, gender, age or what they look like. They are highly skilled and always seemed to be one step ahead of me; now they knew I was there and working against them.
Thankfully, Vida’s other partners have been keeping her safe, and she spends little time in areas where she isn’t safe. Her work at the Council Office keeps her magically protected, and then she has been spending time in the other Kingdoms.
