None of us could have anticipated that things would go so very wrong with our plan. It seemed flawless, and yet here we are, sitting around waiting to find out if our soul mate lives or dies.
When Tatsuya told me everything about the letter, I was sure we had enough information to make this plan work.
When the others had gone off to the library, luring the assassin away, Tatsuya had found me and told me the plan's specifics. He and the Witches had already been to the library and set the spells for the trap.
Once the assassin entered the building, it would trigger the spell. It was essentially a spell to bring forth your worst memories and replay them until the Witch who set the trap released them.
