Emily couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. She decided to do some digging on her own and started searching for more information about Max. She looked up his company online and found an article about his success as an entrepreneur.
But as she was reading, she stumbled upon a comment from a woman who claimed to have worked with Max in the past. The woman's comment sent a chill down Emily's spine: "Max is not what he seems. Be careful around him."
Emily's mind was racing with questions. Who was this woman, and what did she mean? She decided to try and find out more and sent a message to the woman, asking her to meet up.
The woman agreed, and they arranged to meet at a coffee shop the next day. Emily arrived early, her heart pounding with anticipation.
When the woman arrived, Emily was surprised to see that it was someone she knew - Max's assistant, Rachel. Rachel looked nervous and fidgety as she sat down.
"What do you know about Max?" Emily asked, getting straight to the point.
Rachel hesitated before speaking. "Max is hiding something, Emily. Something big. I've seen documents that suggest he's involved in some shady dealings."
Emily's eyes widened in shock. "What kind of dealings?"
Rachel glanced around nervously before leaning in. "I don't know all the details, but I think it's something to do with his business. I've seen him arguing with some shady characters, and I've noticed discrepancies in the company's accounts."
Emily's mind was reeling. Could it be true? Was Max involved in something illegal?
As she left the coffee shop, Emily knew she had to confront Max about what she had learned. But would she be brave enough to face the truth?
