I was awoken by a knock on my door.
I opened my eyes blearily, trying to situate myself. This was my room, my bed. I was alone.
And naked.
The knock sounded again.
“Yes?” I croaked.
“It’s me,” a familiar voice filtered through from the other side of my door. “Colby. Can I come in?”
Naked. I was still naked.
I tried to move with the intent to quickly throw on some clothes, and almost every muscle in my body protested. I dropped my head on my pillows in defeat. “Yes,” I replied, and this time my voice had a little more life in it.
