Chapter5

470 Words
Sarah spent the next few days mulling over the other werewolf's offer. She couldn't deny that the idea of belonging to a pack was appealing, but she also didn't know if she was ready to give up her independence. She had always been a lone wolf, and the thought of living with others was daunting. As she wandered through the woods one day, Sarah heard a rustling in the bushes. She tensed, ready to defend herself, but then she saw who it was: Zach. "Hey," he said, stepping out of the bushes. "I've been looking for you." Sarah eyed him warily. "Why?" Zach held up his hands in a placating gesture. "Just wanted to talk. Can we sit down?" They found a fallen log to sit on, and Zach turned to face her. "Look, I know things got off on the wrong foot between us," he said. "But I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. I shouldn't have pushed you like that." Sarah was surprised by his apology. She had expected him to be more aggressive, more confrontational. "Apology accepted," she said grudgingly. Zach smiled. "Good. Now, can we talk about something else?" Sarah nodded. "Sure. What do you want to talk about?" Zach hesitated, as if choosing his words carefully. "I know this might sound crazy," he said finally, "but I think there's something going on in the woods. Something dangerous." Sarah raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" Zach leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "I think there might be a rogue werewolf out there," he said. "Someone who's not part of any pack, someone who's out of control." Sarah felt a chill run down her spine. She knew how dangerous rogue werewolves could be, how unpredictable and violent. "If that's true, we need to do something about it," she said. Zach nodded. "That's what I was thinking. But we can't do it alone. We need help." Sarah hesitated. She didn't want to involve anyone else in her secret, but she also knew that they couldn't take on a rogue werewolf by themselves. "I might know someone who can help," she said finally. Zach looked at her expectantly. "Who?" Sarah took a deep breath. "Another werewolf. He offered me a place in his pack." Zach's eyes widened. "Another werewolf? Do you trust him?" Sarah shrugged. "I don't know him well enough to say. But if there's a rogue werewolf out there, we might not have a choice." Zach nodded grimly. "Alright. Let's go talk to this guy." Sarah led Zach through the woods, her heart pounding with anticipation. She wasn't sure if she was making the right decision, but she knew that she had to do something to protect herself and those around her. And if that meant joining a pack, so be it.
