CHAPTER 6

833 Words
Ethan’s POV That was all I needed to hear from her. I felt happy that she chose to stay, because I wouldn’t want to force her. “I need some privacy, please.” She added to it. Julian’s eyes widened, and before I could say anything, she stepped forward. “How dare you speak to Alpha Ethan like that? Do you even understand who he is? Do you know the power he holds, the clans he controls? No one commands him.” “It's fine, let’s go.” Julian and I left, giving them some privacy, but I couldn’t help but wonder what she had to say to him. Away from that, I have somewhere important to go. I was about to go when Julian’s voice stopped me. “Can I tag along? You seem to be going somewhere.” “Yes, but you can’t tag along.” I didn’t wait to hear her response; I moved at the speed of light and teleported myself to somewhere only I could enter and come out alive. Far from my pack. Is it just me, or can I perceive some flesh and blood, and where is he? I was already inside. Looking at the new design of the wall, I was impressed. He has the habit of redesigning his wall and interior. “Dearest younger brother is here.” I heard his annoying laughter, and I turned towards him. He has a thing for white colour, but I think black should be his favorite. Looking at the floor, I could see a small droplet of blood. “For the umpeeth time, Zane, I am not your younger brother. You only had the privilege of coming out first for just a few seconds. Who did you kill this time? You know someone as gruesome as you, white dresses should be your worst colour. That is Zane, my identical brother. Not an Alpha, but what we can call Engima. Only three people knew about this secret: My parent and I, as he as been kept away from people. His type is rare, unique, and extremely dangerous. “Even before our birth, there came a prophecy of taking him to a different clan, unless my mum bears the risk of being killed by her son. Zane has a unique power, the same as mine, but I was trained to have it under control, unlike him. “I killed a stupid Alpha, he transpassed. His pack should be mourning by now, they will be fine or not, brother.” I threw myself at the coach. I need the rest. “Zane, you can’t go about killing people over a trivial issue. Get a grip on yourself. Do you have any intention of visiting my clan, maybe in disguise? I have been the one coming to you.” He scoffed, for a moment, I saw the sad look, before he quickly laughed it off. “Have you forgotten so soon what happened, the first and last time I did?” He removed his face, looking into the space. He hasn’t forgiven himself since that singular night. “It was a mistake. I think is time to let go of the guilt.” He almost didn’t say anything. He went back to painting, I saw a glimpse of the art, I couldn’t help but admire it, “Is beautiful.” “That is the only thing a monster like me knows how to do best. I will come watch you perform in the Alpha’s tournament, make sure to win.” He continued his painting. I know he was tired of talking already. Zane has never been so good at using many words. ********* Two days passed. The wolfsbane was gone from Elena’s veins; her body was strong again. She no longer needed much rest. Now, as I walked beside her through my pack, I felt peace. Some warriors stopped when I passed, bowing their heads in respect. Their eyes slid to Elena, some curious, some cautious, some already whispering. She was new, but I knew soon enough they would see her as theirs. “This is my clan,” I told her, my voice full of pride. “Every warrior here would give their life for me, and one day… for you.” She didn’t answer After a while, I asked gently, “Tell me about your family.” Her body stiffened instantly. She slowed down her steps. “They’re gone,” she said quickly. “Dead. That’s all.” I frowned, slowing my pace to match hers. “What happened?” I asked softly. She turned her face away from me. “I don’t want to talk about it.” “Alright,” I said, my voice low. “When you’re ready, you’ll tell me.” My wolf growled softly inside me, not in anger but in frustration. I wanted to know everything. I see myself becoming so impatient around her.” “Elena, I want to mark you.”
