NOEL’S POV
I stood outside the dorm building for a few minutes longer than I needed to. My bag felt heavy on my shoulder and my legs were still sore from the game yesterday. The mark on my neck throbbed under the thick hoodie I had pulled up high. I had checked it three times in the bathroom mirror before leaving, making sure the bandage stayed in place and nothing showed.
The suppressants were working for now but I could still feel the faint heat under my skin, a reminder of how stupid I had been. I did not want to go inside. I did not want to share a room with anyone, especially not him. But I had no choice. Coach had made the decision and I could not risk drawing more attention by complaining.
