CHAPTER SIX London. The apartment at Bayswater that I've owned since my birth. I've always known it. It has always been mine, but I really don't live in it. At least not since I favored the "Manor". The grass of Kensington Gardens and the trees in Hyde Park seem to surround me wherever I go. The satin mirror of the Serpentine reflect the sad rays of early April. A timid sun which does not really wish to appear oscillates in the pale sky. Why have I left the Manor after remaining for months and living every hour and minute with Clara? Maybe because Sussex is far away and New Forest is further, but Southampton does not inspire me as much... There are perhaps thousands of other reasons. Is it because Clara has need of London? The people who have come to my house tonight have no names. T
