On the third night, as I lay on the uncomfortable mattress, I picked up the sound of a bike and held my breath, listening as it grew closer before suddenly the engine shut off right outside the window. I jumped to my feet, my heart in my throat. Peering through the dirty pane, I saw Rook's bike, and I threw the door open letting the night air wash over me. As he climbed off his bike, his eyes searched the darkness before he landing on me. "Mar," he said, his voice rough with emotion.
