THE DARK FEELING PERSISTED over the next several days. So much so that she found she couldn't sleep at night. The doctor had warned her of this type of delayed shock. The long flight on top of her already weakened state was sapping what little energy she had left. She spent the next few days resting, hardly leaving the house at all.
