Merissa arrived at the penthouse with a ding on the floor. She hoped it didn't alert Aaron that she was here just in case what she had thought to be true was true. Taking a deep breath, she stepped out of the elevator and paused to see if she could hear any noises. She held her breath only to realize she heard nothing except the steady wooshing of the air coming from the AC and the ticking of the clock. Merissa wasn't sure if she felt relieved or upset. Shouldn't she be relieved that there didn't seem to be any indication that Ann was there? But then again, what she had dreamed had seemed like a lifetime she had lived and felt like after that she couldn't be with Aaron again.
