Ready to Party

Lost in thoughts, Merissa doesn't realize when she has reached Spring Creek Park and decides to sit near the creek there. Thinking about everything that happened, she could feel the tears slipping from her eyes but didn't know what could make the pain go away. She kept thinking about all the time she had been with Aaron and how Aaron had been so attentive and caring towards her, but after their marriage, it was like the sparks had just gone. How long had Aaron been doing this behind her back, she wondered. Has it been going on since after her marriage or was this recent? She had so many questions but no answers and didn't want to go back to Aaron to seek answers. She just couldn't see his face again but knew eventually she would have. Lost and with an ache in her heart, Merissa didn't realize how long she had been there when she received another call from Jim. Jim had called her earlier too, when she was walking, and had just reached the park too. Not able to talk then, she declined the call and just texted him that she would talk to him later. Seeing the time, she realized she had been sitting there for about 4 hours now and answered the call, knowing very well Jim would be worried and freaking out. "Issa, Hun, are you okay? Where are you? Did that bastard do anything?" Merissa heard Jim's voice on the phone as soon as she picked up the call. Listening to him ask about Aaron, Merissa could feel another round of tears coming in, and furiously wiping her tears, not wanting to cry anymore over him, Merissa answered in a broken voice. "I am okay Jim, I am in a park. I just need to clear my mind. I will tell you when I come back to the hotel." "Don't worry about coming here. Hun, I will come over there, just tell me where you are." "Don't worry Jim, I was just going to call Mr. Kim to pick me up. I will come back, and we can talk. " "Okay, I'll wait for you, Hun." Although Merissa didn't want to talk, she knew Jim would not stop until she told him what had happened. Jim and Merissa had met at college and had been good friends since then. It had been more than 5 years of their friendship, and she knew, although Jim could be a pushover at times, he always met well. And he always treated her more than friends, but like his little sister, therefore, worried and cared a lot more for her. He was like a mother hen around her, always worrying about her, but he was also a very goofy and fun person and Merissa loved that about Jim. If there was anybody who could take her mind off what happened, it was definitely Jim. With that in mind, Merissa decided to call Mr. Kim to pick her up and take her back to the hotel. After hearing where she was, Mr. Kim told her that he wasn't far away from her and would be there in 10 mins to pick her up. While waiting for him, Merissa sees a homeless person in the parking lot asking for money. She quickly takes out her purse to hand over some change when her sight falls on her necklace, and she is reminded of Aaron and his gift again. Not wanting to wear anything of Aaron anymore, she rips off the necklace and takes off her earrings. She hands it over to the homeless person and tells him that he can sell it and keep whatever he got from it. He thanks her repeatedly for that. After assuring the person it was alright, she sees a text from Mr. Kim telling her that he was there. She quickly goes over to her car and climbs in after Mr. Kim opens the door for her. "Thank you, but you know you don't need to open the door for me every time Mr. Kim, I can open it myself," Merissa tells Mr. Kim. "It's okay Merissa Mam, you know I like doing it. Not to mention, my wife would kill me if she knew I was any less than a gentleman" Mr. Kim joked lightly, which made Merissa smile a little. She had met Mrs. Kim, and she was a force to be reckoned with. The elderly lady, although very sweet and kind to her, could also be very fierce. She had seen her scolding Mr. Kim, and a look from her could make any man want to think twice before thinking of crossing her. She asked Mr. Kim how she was and was glad to have a bit of distraction from her thoughts, but soon her thoughts brought her back to Aaron. Upon reaching the hotel, she went to reception to ask if they were able to extend her stay for another night or offer her another room. Fortunately, they were able to extend it and after sorting that out, Merissa made her way to Jim's room. "He did what? I am going to rip his d**k apart and feed it to him. That asshole," Jim shouted. After Jim had opened the door and saw Merissa's face, he couldn't hold his anger. He knew only one person could have made her cry like that and that was, unfortunately, that jerk Aaron, so after Merissa had settled inside his hotel room, he had asked her or begged her to tell him what had happened. And with a sign, Merissa had told him everything. She had just finished telling him what had happened when he shouted. This was why she didn't want to tell Jim. She knew he had already hated Aaron and had been trying to tell her for a while not to trust him but, being a naive girl, she had trusted him. And if there was anything Jim didn't like, it was seeing her broken like that. She knew Jim was justified, and although she flinched when Jim said about ripping his d**k off, she believed he deserved it after everything. Seeing the broken look on Merissa's face and like she was going to cry again, Jim knew this was not the time for him to explode. Merissa needed him more than anything right now. With that thought in mind, he decided to cheer her up. "Oh Hun, let's not talk about him. I know the perfect solution that can take your mind off," Jim said with an evil glint in his eyes. Seeing that look, Merissa knew J had cooked up some haywire idea in his mind. "Uh-huh, I know that look in your eyes, and whatever it is, is a no" Merissa replied, shuddering. "Oh, come on, you know it is not that bad. Just hear me out. I was just going to say let's get drunk to get who we will not name out of your mind." " And?" " I know there is more to it Jim, so just spit it out." " Ugh, okay. I just think we should dress you sexily and find you another guy that you could jump bones and get Aaron out of your system. You know what better way to forget a guy than to jump into bed with another," Jim said with a cheeky grin. " No" "Come on Issa, I know you don't want to start anything serious, and I am not asking you to, but how long has it been since you have lived a little? You don't even have to jump in the bed, just a few drinks and some flirting and dancing, how about that?" Jim tried to convince Merissa. Sighing, Merissa agreed to it and soon Jim and Merissa were on their way to the Paradise Club.
