The cold night air hit my face as I left his apartment angrily, my heart was racing so hard. I couldn't believe what I had seen, Maybe I could, maybe subconsciously I knew he wasn't being real with me, and maybe a part of me just didn't want to believe what I knew to be true. "He's such a f*****g asshole!" I cursed, my hands formed into fists, anger was growing inside of me. The scene flashed in my head—the image of him on top of that slut threatening to make my brain go poof. "Three years! Three years of putting up with his bullshit, supporting his dreams with the little I make, and this is the thanks I get?" I shouted into the empty street, my voice echoing off the walls. My eyes glistened with tears, as I thought of all the good times we’ve shared, I refused to let them fall. I was stronger than that. I was better than him. He didn’t deserve my tears. None of this is worth it!" I screamed, my voice covered with emotion. Dabbing away at the tears with my hand, I took a deep breath and walked away from his wretched apartment. I was done with his lies. I was done with him. Dabbing away at the tears that had begun to fall, with my knuckles. I took a deep breath and walked away from his wretched apartment. I was done with his lies. I was done with him. I called a taxi, slid into the backseat and rattled off the address of the bar my friend worked at. The city lights blurred past the window as I tried to distract myself with some Tik Tok. Alighting outside the bar, I stretched out a handful of dollar bills at the driver and stepped onto the sidewalk. The familiar neon sign lit up above me, as if welcoming me back. I sighed. Walking in, the mixture of laughter and music surrounded me. I spotted my friend Sarah behind the counter and made a beeline for her. "Sarah!" I exclaimed, pulling out a barstool to sit on. "I need a drink. A strong one." Sarah arched an eyebrow as she poured a generous shot of whiskey and slid it across the counter to me. "Let me guess, your day was rough, huh" she asked, her face reflecting concern. I nodded, downing the whiskey in one gulp and squinting my eyes at the burning sensation as it traveled down my throat. She poured me another. "Rough is an understatement," I muttered, bitterness in my voice. "Caught that asshole cheating on me." "Jude?" Her eyes widened in astonishment. I nodded to her obvious question. "What a f*****g jerk," she exclaimed, her tone leaving no room for argument. I knew that guy was full of s**t the moment you introduced him to me and told me his name was Jude. It was his kind that betrayed Jesus. The reason why the world is a mess today. I couldn't help but laugh, easing slightly at her words. Look at you sounding all bible-ly "But you know, I've decided I'm not gonna let him ruin my night." Sarah leaned in, her eyes lit up with mischief. “You know what you need, Kris? A fling. Find yourself a smoking hot guy and just have some fun,” she suggested, a grin playing at the corners of her lips. I shook my head. Classic Sarah, Flings are kind of her thing. “I don’t think I’m ready for that,” I admitted, the thought of dealing with another guy immediately after my breakup made me uneasy. Sarah’s expression softened, and she reached out to squeeze my hand. “I get it, babes. Take your time. But just know that when you’re ready, I’m always down to be your wingwoman.”Before I could respond, Sarah excused herself, citing some urgent work that needed her attention in the back. I watched her go, feeling loneliness creep into my chest. Not long after she was gone, someone slid into the spot beside me. I glanced over, suddenly breathless at the sight of him. He was drop dead gorgeous, with chiseled features and piercing brown eyes that could hypnotize a soul. His dark hair was tousled in a way that screamed effortlessly sexy, and the stubble beard lining his jaw only added to his manly charm. a silent squeak escaped from my lips. I looked away, feeling my cheeks flush with embarrassment at being caught staring. But when he ordered his drink with a voice so smooth it gave me sexy chills, I couldn’t help but sneak another glance his way. Our eyes met, a half-smile playing at his pink lips as he raised his glass in a quiet toast. I shared a smile with the handsome stranger next to me, just as my phone buzzed with a notification. With a sigh, I glanced down, only to see it was a message from my ex. My expression turned stern, disgust evident in my eyes, my fingers itching to delete the message without even reading it. I was about to, when the man beside me spoke. “Man, I’m so happy I’m not whoever messaged you right now,” He smiled. Grinning at his attempt to start a conversation. I replied, putting my phone away. "You and me both," “Just my stupid ex trying to cook up some bullshit story to get me to overlook the fact that he cheated." He nodded in understanding, his expression briefly serious before the familiar mischievous look returned "I wish I could say I'm sorry, but I'm not. If things were cool with you guys, I'd probably be here alone, having sad whiskey by myself," he joked, his lips forming into a grin. "I'm Lucas, by the way." I smiled back, a feeling of warmth spreading through me at his charisma. "Kristen," I introduced myself. As we fell into conversation, I completely forgot about the text or the fact that I just got cheated on. I found myself laughing and chatting wildly with Lucas. We snagged a couple of new seats in the dimly lit corner of the bar. Lucas and I kept the drinks flowing, swapping embarrassing memories like old friends catching up. "So, you're telling me you haven't set foot in a club since college?" I raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corners of my lips. Lucas chuckled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, well, I was nicknamed Cardi B for the rest of my college years because of that little pole dance I did right in the middle of the club." "Noooo!" I covered my mouth, trying hard not to laugh. "Wait, that’s not the worst part," Lucas continued. "I brought home a girl, hoping I would get laid since I hadn't been with one for so long, and one of my roommates walked in on us, asking if the girl taught me the strip dance moves I busted at the club." I burst out laughing, unable to hold myself back. "Well, it's about damn time you got over it. Tonight, we're hitting up one of the hottest clubs in the city, and you're coming with me." Lucas hesitated, but I could see the excitement hiding beneath his eyes. "You're kidding, right?" " I’m Dead serious," I confirmed, flashing him a playful grin. "It's time to rewrite history, and the first step is going to one of the best nightclubs here." He let out a sigh of defeat. "Alright, fine. But if I end up making a fool of myself, you definitely owe me." I laughed, clinking my glass against his. "Deal." We said our goodbyes to the bartender. I made sure to pass on a message to Sarah about my whereabouts, promising myself to fill her in on all the juicy details later. As soon as we arrived at the club, the rhythm of the music surrounded us, sending a rush of adrenaline through my veins. Teasingly, I tugged at Lucas's hand, urging him to join me on the dance floor. At first, he hesitated, his movements clumsy and awkward as if he wasn’t sure of what he would do. But when the loud music took hold of him, I joyfully watched as his worries melted away, replaced by a new sense of freedom that matched mine.We danced recklessly, our bodies moving in sync with the music. Soon we were dancing really close to each other, I could feel the heat between us growing, birthing a storm of desire that threatened to swallow us. Before I could say a word, we were lost in an intense passion fueled by alcohol, our lips crashing together in a deep kiss that had me out of breath and wanting more. His touch burned my skin, causing shivers to run down my spine, as his hands explored every part of me. He gripped my bum firmly, expressing every inch of desire within him. I let out a soft moan, My panties damp with arousal. In that moment, there was only him and me, blocking out everything else going on around us. Lucas hurriedly led me outside to a waiting taxi, and asked the driver to take us to the nearest hotel. Our lips never once breaking contact as we clumsily fell into the backseat, lost in the raw intensity of our desire. As Lucas booked the room, I clung to his arm like I was scared he would leave, my heart pounding with anticipation. The tension between us was beyond intense, every touch sending a pang of desire straight to my core. When we finally reached the room, there was no hesitation. We were like two wolves driven by primal instinct, tearing at each other's clothes with need. "God, you're so f*****g sexy," Lucas growled, his voice husky with desire as he pressed me against the wall, hands feeling every part of my body with hunger. He planted kisses from my neck down to my breasts. I moaned in response, my fingers tangling in his hair as I pulled him closer, craving the heat of his skin against mine. As he pushed me onto the bed, our bodies blended together with desire, our movements driven by the intoxicating mix of alcohol and lust.. "f**k, I need you," I gasped, my breath coming in short, shaky bursts as Lucas claimed me completely, with each touch, each kiss, each thrusts, the world around us faded away until there was nothing left but the two of us, lost in a world of passion and lust. *** The ray of the sun peeking through the gap in the curtains was what jolted me from sleep. I slowly blinked my eyes open, the pounding headache that greeted me was a harsh reminder of the night before. Groaning, I sat up on the bed, feeling utterly exhausted. Then, the memories of the previous night came flooding back, I almost died of embarrassment. I couldn't believe I had let myself get carried away like that, especially with someone I barely knew. That was so unlike me. Desperately, I searched the room for Lucas, but I couldn't find him. Perfect ! He didn’t even have the decency to see me before he left. I felt like a w***e. Just when I was about to give up, I found a note tucked under the night lamp.
