SAM USED LI’S KNIFE TO cut Julia free and helped her to her feet as she was still a little wobbly from the stun guns.
“Are we going to have a problem with your new rule?” Julia asked.
“New rule? Rules don’t apply to people like me Ms Cacerek,” Sam said doing his best to smile with Li’s reptilian face.
Sam wanted to stay in character for the benefit of anyone who might be monitoring the room and their discussion, but Julia understood the double meaning of Sam’s statement.
“There’s been a mistake. My name is Elizabeth Parker,” Julia responded playing along.
“We know who you are and will be watching you very closely. No one can hide from me in China. I would suggest you leave on the next available flight. Our next meeting will not be so friendly,” Sam said.
