I woke up to the soft kisses, when I turned around in the circle of his arms, I cupped his rugged face. “You are back.” I whispered the obvious.
He kissed the tip of my nose. “I was back a few hours ago, but you were sleeping and I didn’t want you up.”
“Mmm…” I kissed his chin. “My husband kept me awake for most of the night.”
His blue eyes darkened and he cupped the side of my face, his thumb pressing on my pulse point. “Your husband…” I nodded with a smile. “Then, let me warn you I know he plans to keep you awake for the rest of tonight too.”
“What if I say, I have no complaints about that.” He made a rough sound, and nipped at my chin. Noticing the shadows on his gaze and the lack of brightness in his eyes, I asked, “Will you tell me what happened? You look troubled.”
