The Stalker

The Clue

I sit on his couch, ignoring the stares I am being given.

"What is it?"

I say, hoping the stares stop soon.

"Huh? Oh nothing sorry."

He says, walking to the couch, and then sits beside me. As he reaches for the remote I look into his eyes, feeling a bit safer here. He clicks a the power button on the remote. The television turns on and the news is being displayed.

"A man was killed in his own home late at name. If you know amything about this case call 917-555-7920."

My eyes widen at the photos being shown on TV. I shiver at the sight of it. The remote rests on the coffee table in front of us. Should I change the channel? I glance over at Jess. He's on his phone, makes sense why he hasn't changed the channel yet. Ugh, I grab the remote quickly and click the guide, channel surfing.

"Jess, How have you been?"

I say something, attenpting to break the silence between us.

"Oh, uhhhhh, Fine."

He answers, seeming a bit unsure about his feelings. I nod slowly, and scoot closer to him. Hopefully he doesn't mind, I thought wrong. He looked at me

"What are you doing?"

He says, I scoot back where I just was. So many things swirl around in my mind, making it hard to concentrate on anything really. I look over at Jess, admiring his looks, atleast attempting to as he was looking down.

"Are you available in a few days?"

I ask him, desperately wanting to stare into his eyes. He looks into my eyes, amd back down to his phone.

"It matters on which day, but most likely, yeah."

I nod, and look at out a window, it was in the kitchen, but quite visible from the living room. What am I seeing? It seems like a shadow, but how? Physics don't work that way. Whatever, I look away from the window for my own good. Temptation starts to kick in, making me want to look back at the window. My eyes slowly inch towards the window, temptation flows through my brain at this point.

"What the?"

I mumble under my breath, as I look out the window and see a hooded figure, once I blink the figure disappears as if I was imagining all of it...
