“Eep! Dad, you’re mean!” Des laughs as he splashes water at me. Then he stands up and makes his way out of the kiddy pool, climbing over the edge and coming over to me, a small tub of water in his hands.
I quickly put down the squirt gun and start walking away from him. Because, he may be small, and he may not be that fast, but I’m still not safe from this headstrong little man with a bucket full of water.
When I round the corner into the kitchen, hoping to get away from Des, I get squirted right in the chest by a loudly laughing Maddy.
Who quickly rushes past me, yelling “I shot Dad!” to Des. Who laughs really loudly at that.
