I leaned back in my chair and watched as the grid of squares on my computer monitor quickly filled with the faces of the rest of the Council of Elders from all over the world. Keeping an eye on the time, I tried to be patient, waiting for everyone to sign on. It was rare when all of us needed to gather, but typically when we did, there was quite a bit of small talk before official business while we all caught up on news from each of our territories.
