32. Daisy

Daisy I was drowning in despair. The hopelessness of our situation was threatening to take over every thought, until I felt paralyzed. I wanted to pace, but the cage I was trapped in wasn't tall enough for me to stand up fully in, and it was so small that crawling back and forth on my hands and knees would mostly just look like me flailing around rather than the angry march of defiance I longed for. Heavy footsteps approached, and, despite the fear that came with the sound, I was almost grateful for the distraction.
