I'd been trying to reach Daisy through our mind link for hours, and neither she nor Willow were answering their phones. By the time Shepard pulled up in front of the pack house in his truck, I'd been pacing long enough to have worn an obvious rut in the dirt.
“Do you know where Daisy is?” I launched myself at him as soon as he was out of the truck, shouting the words rapidly. I knew I sounded hysterical, but I had passed panic long ago. I wasn't sure there was a suitable word for the emotion I was feeling at the moment, but I was barely hanging onto my control and I felt like I was going to snap at any moment.
