Serissa “Donovan,” I had to stop as yet another person approached to congratulate us and wish me well during my role as Luna. I swallowed my irritation and smiled sweetly, thanking them sincerely. I'd been trying to give Donovan hints that I wanted to leave the reception for the last twenty minutes, but it seemed like every wolf present had to say something about the force of my Luna tone. It wasn't like I did it on purpose. “Donovan,” I tried again, relieved when no one approached as he smiled down at me. “How long do we need to stay?” I whispered. “Oh, well,” he seemed a little surprised at my question. “You are the guest of honor, so...” I whimpered, feeling a little pitiful. No one was showing any signs of leaving. I was feeling desperate, though, so I tried to change my tactics.
